About this experience

Cappadocia is the point of the Silk Road used for thousands of years joining the east and the west. Caravanserais are located in all parts of Cappadocia and are historical structures that tell about the intensity of trade. The most popular helpers of caravans are camels. We offer our guests a safe and authentic journey with a unique view of Cappadocia. You can be a piece of history with the possibilities of ancient times. You can join sunrise and sunset private tours and you can also participate in camel safaris at different times during the day. Camel safari tour time varies from 1 to 2 hours.

Camel riding at sunrise

We thought the tour was great. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed it, what a great experience to see the balloons and the beautiful countryside at sunrise! The driver collected us on time and the camel owners were very helpful , using our cameras to take some memorable photos and videos. There’s no hard-sell during this trip, just an optional gratuity.

Response from the operator: Hi, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you and your boys had such a memorable sunrise camel ride. Watching the hot air balloons drift across Cappadocia at sunrise is truly a special experience, and we’re so pleased you enjoyed both the scenery and the peaceful atmosphere. It’s also great to know that your driver was punctual and that our camel team helped capture those special moments with your cameras. We believe those memories are just as important as the ride itself, so your kind words mean a lot to us. Thank you once again for choosing Skyway Travel. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Cappadocia for another unforgettable adventure in the future! Warm regards, Skyway Travel Team

This was the experience...

This was the experience of a lifetime for me as I love camels and I've always wanted to at least pet one. The location of the camel stable is along a mountainous area and you join a little caravan that takes you over to a beautiful view of the sunset where the guides will take pictures for you. My camel Pasha was very cute and a good sport. I would do this again next time I come to Cappadocia.

Response from the operator: Hi Sherrie, Your review made us smile, We’re so happy that this experience became such a special moment for you, especially as someone who already loves camels! Meeting them up close and riding through the valleys at sunset really creates such a unique atmosphere in Cappadocia. It’s lovely to hear that you enjoyed the scenery, the photo stops, and of course your time with Pasha 🐪 We’ll be waiting to welcome you back for another sunset ride on your next visit to Cappadocia! Warm regards, Skyway Travel Team

Indifferent

It was uncomfortable sitting on my camel, I was worried of sliding down/backward the whole time. But my friend's camel was fine. The guide didn't give an intro or explain anything when we got there. Also, the drive from my hotel to the camel range felt a little bit unsafe. Given the experience, the price was not worth it.

Response from the operator: Hello Audrey, thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that your experience felt uncomfortable and did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few of the points you raised so we can provide better transparency. Regarding the difference between your camel and your friend’s, all of our camels are selected and trained under the same standards. However, the riding experience can vary depending on posture, balance, and how each guest adapts during the ride. This may explain why your friend felt more comfortable while you did not, but we understand that this still affected your experience. About the lack of introduction, we appreciate you pointing this out. While our team always aims to brief guests, there can occasionally be limitations in spoken English. For this reason, we provide an audio guide before the tour to ensure all guests have access to clear and detailed information about the experience. That said, your feedback highlights that we should reinforce this part of the service. Concerning the transfer, guest safety is our top priority. All our drivers follow strict safety protocols, and no excessive speed or unsafe driving is tolerated. However, we take your comment seriously and will review this internally to ensure our standards are consistently maintained. We also want to note that all tour inclusions, details, and pricing are clearly presented before purchase so guests can make informed decisions. That said, we understand that expectations can differ, and your feedback is important in helping us improve the overall experience. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. Your comments are valuable and help us continue to improve our services for future guests.

Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Goreme.

How much does Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $48 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Goreme usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour take?

+

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Goreme is not rushed.

Is Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Goreme, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour?

+

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Goreme can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Goreme and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cappadocia Camel Ride Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Goreme within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Goreme?

+

On Outty we rank every Goreme experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Red (North) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and tickets, Green (South) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and ticket, Cappadocia Green Tour - Classic Route (Popular). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Goreme?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Goreme?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
