I needed a ride
was cool. Idk the actual cost to get into Aquila b/c I paid through the travel coordinator but it was an expensive uber. If you’re like me, and didn’t want to drive up to the reserve, book transportation through this. I was picked up from my hotel. There was a group that joined my car ride and we all traveled up to the reserve. The person driving you there, isn’t leading you through the Aquila Game reserve. He was very kind and i appreciated being there so i could focus on the scenic drive while he managed our transportation. Once we arrived at the game reserve, you essentially lounge on the property until lunch. After lunch, they consolidate all guests that seek to do the game drive. The park is large in acres but the animals seemed well positioned to be noticed one after the other. We got pretty close to them. It’s two hours long but that’s really b/c of all the stopping to view and take photos. I wouldn’t go again but it was nice to experience for a first time.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m really glad you enjoyed the scenic drive and that the transportation made things easier and more comfortable for you. It’s always nice to relax and take in the views without worrying about driving. At Aquila Private Game Reserve & Spa, the program is designed to give guests time to enjoy the property, lunch, and then fully experience the guided game drive. The two-hour safari allows for close animal sightings and plenty of time for photos, which makes it especially great for first-time visitors. I truly appreciate your honest feedback and I’m happy you had the opportunity to experience it. Thank you again for choosing us to assist with your trip!

Seeing the Big 5 so close is always special! It was a pleasure sharing this adventure with you, and I hope to welcome you back to Cape Town for another memorable tour one day

Outstanding Transport Experience with Joel – Aquila Game Reserve
Joel was absolutely amazing as our transporter to and from Aquila Game Reserve. He was punctual, courteous, and extremely accommodating from start to finish. Beyond just getting us there safely, Joel was informative and engaging, sharing helpful insights along the way, and his sense of humor made the entire ride enjoyable and relaxed. He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of, which truly elevated the experience. If you’re heading to Aquila, I highly recommend Joel. He’s professional, personable, and clearly takes pride in providing excellent service. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

It was a pleasure sharing the beauty of Cape Town with you. I’m glad the experience helped make your first visit so special and complete. Wishing you safe travels, and I hope to welcome you back again one day

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $5300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7.2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7.2-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 7.2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cape Town to Big 5 Safari Reserve Full-Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
