Great value for money
Very well organized. We changed pick up locations the night before, but they still went and pick us up in our hotel. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and we really enjoyed his facilitation of the tour. I would say it was great value for money.

Better get tickets at original sellers.
All you need to know is that the price for a normal ticket at viator is as high as a fast track ticket elsewhere. So you wait 2h more for the same amount! Priceless 🤬

Make sure you get a WhatsApp message
I never received a WhatsApp message with ticket QR code and so had issues getting on the cable car . Thankfully the staff at Table Mountain were more than helpful and sorted it for us ! But not ideal So be aware you need to have received a WhatsApp message to get on the cable car
Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused ,we understand how frustrating this must have been especially at the cable car entrance Thank you for your patience and understanding and we grateful that the Table Mountain staff were able to assist you.We truly appreciaate your feedback ,as it helps us improve our communication and service to ensure future guests receive their tickets smoothly and on time.

Diapointed
We were disappointed with the amount Viator charged once we got there we were told we were overcharged and we needed to upgrade to the fast track ticket Wouldn’t use Viator again
Response from the operator: We are really sorry for inconvenience caused regarding your tickets ,in future rather call your supplier on the ground he will help you

Don’t buy a ticket from Viator
Table Mountain is fantastic but becoming a very over visited and spoilt attraction. The Viator trip consisted of at least twice the normal ticket priced opportunity to stand in a queue for the cable car (an impressive piece of engineering) but no additional information or support. I wouldn’t have missed the visit but don’t pay Viator for your ticket - they’re simply a very expensive middle man.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback.Kindly note that during the holiday season, queues are expected as it is a peak period.Thank you Regards Wayne

Why this scores 36
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 36 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cape Town: Half-Day Table Mountain Cable Car Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Penguins Day Tour from Cape Town, Table Mountain, Boulders Penguins and Cape point Day Tour, Wine Tour: Paarl, Franschhoek & Stellenbosch incl 3 wineries. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
