Lavrio
Lavrio is a town in southeastern part of Attica. It is part of Athens metropolitan area and the seat of the municipality of Lavreotiki. Lavtio was famous in Classical antiquity for its silver mines, which was one of the chief sources of revenue of the Athenian state. The metallic silver was mainly used for coinage. A great journey with a great driver.
This was our second journey with Christo, and as with the first he was pleasant and adept at navigating the roads from Athens to the magnificent Temple of Poseidon. He also took us to the top of Lycabettus Hill on Athens at the end of our journey. Like the previous trip, he also gave us free ice cold water as well as pamphlets that provided us more information on the sites we were visiting. Recommend for a stress-free journey to Cape Sunion. He also gave us lots of tips about where to eat and where to buy nuts and spices.
