Very disappointing – Cape of Good Hope & Penguins Tour was not as advertised

We booked the Cape of Good Hope & Penguins Tour expecting a proper guided experience, but what we received was far from it. First, our pickup time was confirmed for 8:00 AM, yet we weren’t actually picked up until 8:50. Once the tour began, it was essentially just transportation from place to place. There was very little explanation or insight shared, and at several stops, the “guide” simply pointed at information plaques and told us to read them ourselves. This is not what you expect when paying for a guided tour — we could have done that on our own for much less. After the tour, I contacted the operator to share my concerns. They initially replied saying they would get back to me, but even after following up, I never received any further response. This experience felt misleading and unprofessional. It was advertised as a guided tour, but in reality, it was just an overpriced transfer. Very disappointing, and I would strongly recommend that others look elsewhere.

Response from the operator: Dear valued guest Thank you very much for your feedback as per our conversation over the weekend, I told you that the matter was still under instigation and all our guide are fully trained, some of them have been in this industry for more than 15 years. we are very sorry if you didn't connect with your guide from the beginning and we will appreciate if you may contact us privately and see if we can resolve this matter amicably. Thank you very much.

Excellent

We had a wonderful time in Capetown and had Felix for 3 day trips Cape of good Hope Boulders bay and The Winelands . His service was very professional and his driving and knowledge excellent . We have been to Cape Town a few times before and Felix was very happy to adjust our trips to allow us to spend maximum time in our favourite locations . I would highly recommend Felix and his company and we hope to be back in Cape Town again and would 100 percent use this company . Thankyou again for making our trips excellent hopefully see you again soon

Response from the operator: Dear client, words aren’t enough to express how grateful we are for your wonderful feedback. We are happy that our team continues to create a positive impact in the society by providing quality service to all our clients. It is our joy that you were satisfied with what we offer. Thank you for choosing us and we hope to plan your next tour.

Incredible private tour in Capetown

The booking of the tour was as easy as the contact right before the actual tour. All questions were answered immediately. The private tour itself was incredible. Our Tourguide David was very good informed and made it a great day for us. We would highly recommend the tour.

Good tour of the main sights of Cape Town. Unfortunately very foggy when we did it so couldn't see some things. Samuel, our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and a great guide.

Response from the operator: Dear valued guest, thank you very much for your review, sorry the weather disappointed you but we are glad big Sam made your day. Thanks

Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.

How much does Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included cost?

+

Prices start at $65 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.

Is Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cape Point, Boulder's Beach in Private Car Entrance Fees Included start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

+

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Cape Town Airport Private Transfer, Ocean Wildlife Encounter in Cape Town. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
