Transported to a few taco places
We were taken in a van with a driver who did not speak at all…..no English, no tour/ no history facts.Just got out at each spot and was served tacos. We didn’t know what to do or if we had a choice in ordering because our driver did not speak or instruct us. Tacos were good but we could have just ubered to a few places just as easily.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize that the tour did not meet your expectations. The experience is designed to provide not only great food, but also guidance and assistance throughout each stop. We are sorry to hear that the level of interaction and explanation was not what you anticipated. Your feedback regarding communication is very important to us. We understand how essential it is to feel informed and guided during a tour experience, especially when language plays a key role. We will be reviewing this internally to ensure clearer communication and expectations moving forward. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the tacos, but we regret that the overall experience did not feel as engaging as it should have. Thank you again for your honest feedback — it helps us improve.

The Real Meal!
Ramiro was a great guide and took us into the neighborhoods where we could sample the local cuisines representing various regions of Mexico. It was both very informative and really delicious! We were the only Gringos in the places we visited so we knew we were getting the real foodie experience! Thanks Ramiro!

Almost amazing.
The guide and the food and restaurants were great. Polite, professional and friendly. However, the tequila tasting was horrible. Soon as you exit van they take you to jewelry shop and pressure you to buy. The tequila tasting they tried to swindle me. My daughter like strawberry flavor and I coffee. Wanted 1 each small bottle. Gave me different bottle than the one tasted. I questioned the guy he days sant thing they just don't make the small bottle with the same label. The one she tasted had nice label trimmed in silver, raised and pretty blue. They packaged white and black label. We continued to walk through the store and guess what I found? Small strawberry flavored in the amalgamation bottle with blue and silver label. They say it's discounted for us and they tried to swindle us. Also had a gift shop, we've been in Cancun three days, we don't need anymore souvenirs. The guy from shop spoke to our guide and next thing you know guide is asking us if we wanted to go back to goofy shop. If they got rid of that harassing and scamming tour it would be a great tour.
Response from the operator: Hello Thank you very much for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your experience. We truly appreciate your honesty, and we’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the guide, as well as the food and restaurants, and that you found the service polite, professional, and friendly. That said, we are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience during the tequila tasting and shopping stop. We completely understand how uncomfortable and upsetting it can feel to be pressured to buy or to feel that the information provided was misleading. This is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have, and we regret that this part of the tour left such a negative impression. The tequila tasting and shop visit are intended to be optional cultural experiences, and guests should always feel free to participate or decline without any pressure. Your description of the situation, especially regarding the product labeling and pricing, is concerning, and we take this feedback very seriously. We will be sharing your comments with our operations team and the third-party vendor involved so this can be reviewed and addressed appropriately. We also apologize if the situation affected your interaction with the guide afterward. While our guides aim to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported, we understand how this moment may have added to your frustration. Your feedback is extremely valuable and helps us identify areas where improvements are clearly needed. We truly appreciate you pointing this out, and we hope that with adjustments, we can ensure future guests enjoy all aspects of the tour without feeling pressured or uncomfortable. Thank you again for sharing your experience. Best regards

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 72 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting?
+
Around 25 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cancun Taco & Mexican Food Tour with Tequila Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
