    Not Great

Overall not a great trip although staff were nice and friendly. 1. Tax was $53 each before setting off (should be between $20-$25 each based on what I have read) 2. Catamaran was old and in poor condition (broken windows and a broken net at the front) 3. Snorkelling was very brief and busy. Spent 30 seconds maximum at one small section of the underwater museum. 4. Ice Bar / Food stop not great - just a very hot/sandy buffet with a large freezer ("Ice Bar") to stand in. 5. Free swimming / free time was very restricted and limited. 10 mins swimming was allowed and it had to be where you were told to go. 6. Isla Mujeres was obviously beautiful but so overcrowded it became difficult to enjoy.

Response from the operator: Dear Jonathan, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, and for recognizing the friendliness and attentiveness of our crew. We sincerely regret that, on this occasion, the overall experience did not meet your expectations and that several aspects of the day affected your perception of the tour. Our goal is for every traveler to enjoy a pleasant, safe, and memorable experience in the Caribbean, which is why we take the feedback we receive very seriously. We have taken note of the different points you mentioned and will share them with our operations team so they can be reviewed and discussed internally. We also understand that certain factors, such as the number of visitors in Isla Mujeres or the particular conditions of the day, can influence the experience and are not always within our control. Nevertheless, we appreciate you letting us know how these aspects affected your visit. We are glad to know that, despite your concerns, you found our staff friendly and attentive. Providing respectful and helpful service to our travelers is a fundamental part of the experience we strive to offer. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with an experience that better reflects the service we strive to deliver.

    Book this tour immediately

This tour was so much fun everything was 10/10. I would recommend to everyone, there was not too many people on the boat, snorkeling was cool, we saw a turtle, starfish, and lots of fish. Then we did an hour golf cart with a guide. We also swam in plays Norte (one of the top 5 most beautiful beaches in the world). Book this tour!

Response from the operator: Dear Cassie, Wow! Thank you so much for such an amazing review! 🌴⛵️ We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that you had a 10/10 experience with us and that you would recommend the tour to everyone. It sounds like you made the most of your day in Isla Mujeres! We’re especially happy to hear that you enjoyed the snorkeling and had the chance to see a turtle, starfish, and plenty of colorful fish. Those are the kinds of moments that make the experience truly special! It’s also wonderful to know that you enjoyed the golf cart tour and had time to relax and swim at beautiful Playa Norte. It sounds like you got to experience some of the very best of Isla Mujeres all in one day. And of course, thank you for the enthusiastic recommendation: “Book this tour!” 😎 That means a lot to our entire team. Thank you for choosing us to be part of your vacation. We hope to welcome you back to the Mexican Caribbean for another unforgettable adventure!

    The crew is very...

The crew is very attentive and makes sure you are taken care of. The drinks are somewhat weak but otherwise, the on board experience was great. The lunch options were limited and okay. Playa Norte beach is beautiful

Response from the operator: Dear Claudia, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time aboard the catamaran and, especially, that our crew made you feel well taken care of. Providing attentive and friendly service throughout the day is exactly what we aim for, so your kind words mean a lot to our team. We’re also glad you enjoyed the beauty of Playa Norte. It truly is one of the highlights of Isla Mujeres and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the Caribbean. Thank you again for choosing to spend your day with us. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the Mexican Caribbean for another great adventure!

    Highly Recommend!

Great experience. I highly recommend doing this one. It was absolutely perfect. First we got on the boat and took a short ride to the snorkeling spot. We had about 20 min in the water and saw some cool sculptures. It was the perfect amount of time. Then we hopped back on the boat and the drinks were flowing. We went to a beach club with a buffet which was mid but we weren’t there for the food anyway. We laid in hammocks in the water and went to the ice bar which was so nice to cool off in. We were there about an hour and a half. Then we got back in the boat and went to playa Norte. We went shopping and hit the beach. There for about 2 hours. Again, the right amount of time. Took a boat back to the marina. We made friends with other couples and it was a great time. We got to see everything that was on my Isla mujeres checklist and were well taken care of. Our tour guide, Giovani was awesome!! STAR 5 crew!

Response from the operator: Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to share such an amazing and detailed review! 🌴⛵️ We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time and that the experience checked off everything on your Isla Mujeres list! From snorkeling and discovering the underwater sculptures to relaxing at the beach club, cooling off at the Ice Bar, and enjoying the beautiful Playa Norte, it sounds like you made the most of every moment. We especially love hearing that you felt the timing of each activity was just right. Our goal is to give our travelers enough time to enjoy each stop without making the day feel rushed, while still experiencing everything that makes Isla Mujeres so special. And a huge thank you for recognizing Giovani! We’ll definitely share your kind words with him and the rest of our crew. Knowing that he helped make your day so enjoyable—and that you felt well taken care of—is incredibly rewarding for our entire team. We’re also happy to hear that you met other travelers and made new friends along the way. That’s part of what makes these experiences so memorable! “STAR 5 crew”—we absolutely love that! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you for choosing us and for recommending this experience to other travelers. It was our pleasure to be part of your Isla Mujeres adventure. We hope to welcome you back to the Mexican Caribbean someday for another unforgettable day on the water!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks! cost?

    +

Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks! take?

    +

Plan for about 7.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks! worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks!?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks! suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks!?

    +

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cancun's Best: Catamaran to Isla Mujeres, Snorkeling & Drinks! start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
