Puerto Juarez Cancun Mexico
This first stop is in Puerto Juarez, currently a candidate to be one of the first 'barrios magicos' (magic neighbourhoods) in the country, as this was where Cancun 'existed' before Cancun was built in the 1970s. We'll eat ceviche and enjoy a drink in Marbella, a hidden gem of a seafood restaurant overlooking the Caribbean just 2-3 yards away.

Cancun
Our second stop, after a half-hour cruise in the Classic racing-car painted VW beetle, will be at a restaurant overlooking the Laguna Nichupte, sat on a sand beach, where we'll try the 'pescadillas' (lcoally famed fish empanadas) or vegetarian alternative, and have a drink.
35 minutes here
Cancun
After a ten-minute drive, being photographed and videoed by passers-by in the VW Beetle, our third stop will be in the heart of the Zona Hotelera, where we'll soak up the atmosphere, while eating tacos al pastor, a Mexican national institution of a dish alongside another drink.
35 minutes here
El Parque de las Palapas
After a further 20 minutes in the classic VW Beetle, our fourth and final stop will be in a large square frequented by the locals and national tourists every evening, together with their families. We'll wander around, your guide explaining each of the local dishes on offer at this street food market and entertainment venue and enjoy a 'marquesita', a crispy pancake fileld with fruits and Edam cheese, a dish unique to this region of Mexico.

Loved everything about this tour
We had a remarkable experience with Paul! He was informative, engaging, and fun to be around and the locations/food selections were perfect! I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get out and explore the beauty of Cancún.
Response from the operator: Thank you Kylee. It was so good that we got to spend the afternoon and evening together and show you some of the 'real Cancun'. We ate well, enjoyed each others' company and I think the advice you got for the rest of your trip (when I was fully booked) worked well. Win-win!

Awesome tour!
We did a food tour with Paul and it was outstanding! Our first stop was a truly local restaurant. I would almost describe it as a “speak easy”. You enter a convenience store and go to the back and then go upstairs to a complete surprise! It was a fantastic setting right on the water. We enjoyed a beer and some of the best shrimp ceviche I ever tasted. 2nd stop was in the main square of Cancun. One again, it felt as though only locals were visiting this area. There was music, kids playing, and tons of food vendors. We had a dessert called a marquesita. It was delicious!! 3rd stop was in the crazy area near Congo Bongo. We had some tacos el pastor at a restaurant in this area. Although not my atmosphere, it was fun to people watch and experience a bit of the Cancun night life. Last stop was a seafood/taco restaurant further down in the Hotel Zone. We had fish empanadas and a cocktail. Another fantastic choice and a great way to end the evening. Paul’s tour does an amazing job, showing 4 different types of restaurants, all with a different vibe. He is a fun, knowledgeable person and also teaches you about the history of Cancun. Do not hesitate to book a tour with him!!
Response from the operator: Darren, thank you to you and Nikki for a great evening - felt like friends pretty much instantly. Thank you also for the review, the time taken, and I hope to see you back here for your twenty-somethingth visit to Cancun and to do something a little different together.

An all-in-one great experience!
I'm so glad that I booked this tour. My fiance and I had a wonderful experience from start to finish! Minutes after i booked, I had received a nice confirmation message from the tour guide/business owner himself, Paul. He was on time, accommodating, and friendly. He is also a seasoned traveler so he is knowledgeable enough to give us a history of Cancun, show us the highlights of the city, and have us experience some of the best foods around. If you are a first timer in Cancun, I highly recommend this deal! Also, wandering in a VW beetle is a sweet bonus! Hey Paul, thanks for such an amazing experience. We look forward to booking your other tours on our next visit!
Response from the operator: I loved meeting you and Damon very much and all the best for the wedding. Coming soon! :-) I'm glad you enjoyed the tour, the food and only sorry that you now miss the pescadillas! You'll just have to come back...

Unforgettable Night with Paul!
We had such a great night with Paul! This isn’t just a food tour—it’s a mix of amazing food, local culture, and insight into the social and economic side of Cancun. Paul really knows his stuff, and as a well-traveled person himself, he brings a unique perspective. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that passion is contagious. We also got a video at the end of the tour, which was such a wonderful bonus—it really made the experience even more special. Our only regret is not doing this tour earlier in our trip—we definitely would’ve spent more time with him. Guess we’ll just have to come back!
Response from the operator: You're very kind and it was a delight to spend the evening with you, eating the best food and showing off what is now my home town and explaining its people. As you say, this is more than a food tour, rather a food-based socio-cultural tour. It was indeed a shame we were unable to schedule anything else, but thank you for your review, and congrats on your wedding too!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi) cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi) take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi)?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cancun Private Tour @night-Food, Culture&History(VW Beetle/Audi) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
