    IMPRESSIVE

It is something I did not expect could be done, and I found it incredible. Seeing the Great Wall of China, having a beer at sunset, SLEEPING on it, and watching the sunrise all by ourselves, has been an experience that is hard to forget. It has defined our trip through China. And even more so seeing the videos of the overcrowded wall in Mutianyu, for example. Plus, we ate at the home of a lady who cooked the best meal of the trip for us so far! Our guides, Tony and Noodle, were the best. They speak English perfectly and explain and help you with everything. Then they did us a favor with the suitcases. Finding people like that, who help you, speak English to you, and treat you so well, is a stroke of luck. That is why I recommend it 100%. It might seem a bit expensive, but it is absolutely worth it. The experience is amazing, and so are they! Thank you!

    Trip defining experience!

This was the best thing I did the whole time travelling in China. Seeing the sun set and rise over the Great Wall was even more epic than I imagined. You go to an area that is not crowded at all and you can really take in the vast panoramic views of beautiful mountains and the impressive structure cutting though it. The meals were a local experience in a village house near by. Sleeping in the tent was not comfortable but that is expected when camping. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone! Go create some memories!

I went for it at 70!

Got back yesterday. It was rainy and cold upon arrival at the base. I didnt bring enough clothing layers to keep me warm. We were provided tents, sleeping bag and a foam pad. It took me awhile to warm up. There were other hikers that werent part of our group that shared our watch tower. They chatted loudly over their hotpot meal until 1am and added to my problem of trying to sleep. However, as a 70 year old lady in pretty good shape, the hike was moderately challenging and the scenery was breathtaking. Dinner was at a family home. It was homemade and delicious. Beer & liquor offered. Breakfast at a little village restaurant was also good. Didnt sleep well but, so glad that I went!

Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall take?

    +

Plan for about 24 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 24-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 24-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Camping Overnight Tour On The Wild Great Wall start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
