    Fun birthday celebration

Celebrated a friends birthday with 5 friends. The food was delicious. Our bus driver and tour guide, Jay, was the best. He informed us of very interesting facts about the origin of the food we would be tasting on the way to each restaurant. Highly recommend Cajun Food Tours.

A must do if visiting Lafayette

One of the best things we did in on our Road Trip. A great way to experience a little bit of Lafayette and Cajun Culture / Food. We went to places we would not have necessarily chosen / known about and tasted some really lovely food. Even the kids enjoyed the experience even though they were a bit worried about what food they would get! Whitney was brilliant - very knowledgeable and full of fun to make the tour even better. We were a small group which was nice. I would definitely recommend to anyone wishing to experience Cajun food in the best places in Lafayette.

Our Very First Food Tour…and not our last

We recently went on the Original Cajun Food tour. The occasion: our grandson (from Kentucky) was in town and even though he has grown up visiting us, now that he is older, he wanted to experience more food unique to our area. And it was our very first food tour! We have lived in Lafayette for 43 years, and I learned so much about how our food became unique. Be sure and come hungry because you will be stuffed when you finish. Marie was our guide and she gave us a great history behind the foods and also told us some unique stories. It was SO much fun! We traveled in a comfortable van, and as we traveled to each venue, Marie pointed out various places, some historical, about the area. We were given bottled water and had the option to purchase different beverages at each stop. We also were given some nice souvenirs to bring home. We were given ample time at each stop to eat, go to the restroom.

    Friends' trip

We had a fabulous time visiting five local eateries. Our friends from out-of-state really enjoyed the Cajun cuisine. Our driver, Jay, filled us in with lots of local information which was very interesting.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review and for all the stars! So glad Jay made your friends' visit memorable with great local insights and great food!

    Must Do Tour in Lafayette

I highly recommend this tour! The 5 stops food choices were fantastic . Loved each stop!! In addition to great food our tour guide, Whitney, did an exceptional job. We learned Acadiana history which was very interesting. The tour company works with numerous restaurants in the Lafayette area so we would do the tour again and probably try completely different food. If you get a chance take this tour!!

Response from the operator: Awe, Reda, so happy to hear you had a great time with Whitney. I too think she's exceptional.... not mom bias at all 😉..... She said what a fun group y'all had. Hope to see you on another tour soon!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lafayette.

How much does Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette cost?

    +

Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lafayette usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette take?

    +

Plan for about 3.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lafayette is not rushed.

Is Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 180 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lafayette, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cajun Food Tour by Bus in Lafayette?

    +

Around 63 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lafayette can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lafayette and add a light layer if any part of the 3.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Lafayette?

    +

Lafayette, LA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Lafayette by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Lafayette experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour Historic Vermilionville, Downtown Lafayette Cajun History & Folklore Walking Tour, Baton Rouge Historic Downtown Self-Guided Audio Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lafayette?

    +

Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Lafayette, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lafayette?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
