Fantastic day exploring Cajón del Maipo

We had an awesome day with Ignacio. We explored Cajón del Maipo, stopped at the Chocolate House, had a great lunch, and finished with a winery tour and tasting. We also headed up into the mountains hoping to see the volcano, but the weather had other plans. Ignacio was fantastic throughout: knowledgeable, personable, and flexible, and he made the entire day enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Dear Chris, Thank you so much for your kind review and recommendation! I’m really happy to hear that you had such an awesome day exploring Cajón del Maipo with me :) It was a real pleasure spending the day together, from the Chocolate House and our Chilean lunch to exploring the Andes and finishing with the winery and wine tasting. Unfortunately, the weather decided to hide the volcano from us this time haha! But I’m glad that we could adapt the day and still make the most of the experience. Thank you as well for your kind words about my guiding. I always try to keep our private tours flexible, relaxed, and personal, so it means a lot to know that you enjoyed the day. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. I hope to welcome you back to Chile one day and hopefully next time the volcano will cooperate with us! All the best and keep travelling! Santiago tour July 2026

Ignacio was a terrific guide. Unfortunately, we had bad weather, but Ignacio was able to schedule some alternate sites for us to see. He took us to a wonderful local restaurant and our meal was very enjoyable. We highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Wayne! Thank you very much for taking the time to write me a kind review. I’m truly happy to hear that, despite the bad weather, you still had such an enjoyable day with us :) Although we couldn't visit every planned location due to the road conditions, I’m glad we were able to adapt the itinerary and discover some alternative places that made the experience worthwhile. Sometimes those unexpected changes become part of the adventure! I’m also delighted that you enjoyed the local restaurant and your Chilean lunch. Sharing authentic Chilean food is always an important part of the experience, and I’m glad it was one of the highlights of your day. Thank you again for your trust and recommendation. I hope to welcome you back to Chile one day so we can explore Cajón del Maipo again under blue skies! Stay safe and keep travelling! Ignacio Pérez Gamboa Turismo City Trekking Guide

Perfect day trip from Santiago

We had an absolutely wonderful time on out tour with Ignacio. He shared lots of interesting information about Chile & the region and showed us a lot of beautiful sites. The pace of the tour never felt rushed and focused on things that interested us. Our lunch stop was delightful and the food was delicious! We were able to try multiple different menu items and of course some Chilean wine. Speaking of wine, our winery visit was perfect. We felt like VIPs. All in all in was a fantastic tour and a fabulous day trip from Santiago.

Response from the operator: Dear Melissa, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It truly makes me happy to hear that you had such a memorable day with us discovering the Cajón del Maipo area, especially knowing that you also work in the tourism industry planning tours. It was a pleasure sharing the beauty of the region, its history, and some of the stories that make Chile such a fascinating country. I’m especially glad that the pace of the day felt comfortable and that we could focus on the places and experiences in the Andes Mountains that interested you the most. I’m also delighted that you enjoyed the lunch experience and had the opportunity to try different local dishes and Chilean wines. And of course, I’m very happy to hear that the winery visit made you feel like VIPs at LOF Winery — creating those special and personal moments is exactly what we strive for. I’m also glad that you enjoyed the "earthquake experience" haha! Thank you again for your trust and for choosing Turismo City Trekking Guide. I hope to welcome you back to Chile one day for more great food, wine, and unforgettable experiences. Warm regards, Ignacio City Trekking Guide

Natural beauty and historical significance in the Chilean Andes

What a wonderful tour of the Chilean Andes and local towns this was! With Ignacio as my personal guide, I saw so many examples of Chile’s natural beauty, including breathtaking landscapes, as well as an historical town and a first-class winery, rich with Chilean history and unique architecture. I particularly appreciated Ignacio’s knowledge of Chile’s independence movement in the 19th century, as well as his insights into the country’s more recent social progress and governmental evolution over the last 50 years. This was an eye-opening and educational you’re which I will never forget!

Response from the operator: Dear Brian Porter, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and generous review. It truly means a lot to me to know that the tour was both memorable and meaningful for you. It was a real pleasure spending the day together exploring that Andes mountain, the local towns, and the winery. I’m especially happy to hear that you enjoyed not only the natural beauty of the Cajon del Maipo region but also the historical and cultural aspects of the experience. I really enjoyed our conversations about Chile’s history, from the independence movement to the country's more recent social and political developments. Sharing those stories and perspectives with curious travelers like you is one of my favorite parts of being a guide. Thank you again for your trust and for choosing Turismo City Trekking Guide. I hope to welcome you back to Chile one day for more discoveries, stories, and adventures. All the best, Ignacio Pérez

Great combination of sites and experiences for a full Day

We had a great day of weather, a comfy and safe drive, saw the volcano, short hike to a waterfall, and ate some really good food. Corn pastry and empanadas pino are a must at reataurants along the route. Great advice from Ignacio on the winery visit. Would not change anything.

Response from the operator: Dear Joshua, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I’m really happy to hear that you enjoyed the combination of Andes Mountain scenery, the chilean local food, and the boutique winery experience. It was a pleasure spending the day with you and showing you some of the highlights of the Cajón del Maipo area. Thank you as well for your kind words about the winery recommendation. It means a lot to hear that you wouldn’t change a thing about the day :)!!! Thank you again for your trust and for choosing Turismo City Trekking Guide. I hope to welcome you back to Chile one day for more adventures in the Andes and beyond. Warm regards in Texas! Ignacio Pérez Gamboa City Trekking Guide

Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santiago.

How much does Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery cost?

+

Prices start at $190 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santiago usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery take?

+

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santiago is not rushed.

Is Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santiago, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery?

+

Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santiago can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santiago and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cajon Del Maipo with Lunch and Visit to One Winery start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santiago within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santiago?

+

On Outty we rank every Santiago experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Maipo Valley Wine Tour with 4 vineyards from Santiago., Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar with Casablanca Wine Tasting, Santiago: Valparaiso, Viña del Mar & Casablanca Wine Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santiago?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santiago?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
