NO SHOW GUIDE
I'm giving it a zero because the guide never showed up, nor did the tour operator answer the phone. We were so disappointed, plus my CC had been automatically charged for the tour. We ultimately got a cab and went to the bazaar on our own, got incredibly lost but had a good time. The merchants were mildly aggressive but not unmanageable. Viatour is giving me a 100% refund.

Do without guide
Driver got me easily to markets & back, but guide didn't really interact with us, could have done this without the guide & wandered at my own pace & own direction

Very accommodating guide
We modified the original plan to include a visit to the Coptic Christians area and also the papyrus factory. Both were worthy side trips. Then the Old Markets inside Old Cairo...very interesting and so full of history, which the guide waķs happy to share. He made excellent suggestions and did not fuss when I asked to be taken back to the hotel a bit earlier than planned. The heat plus walking made it difficult for me but he was very accommodating. Will recommend this tour to others.

When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
