Unorganised if you ask for anything different

I'm sure this tour would work fine if you followed their exact itinerary. However, I requested some changes to the itinerary to places I wanted to see near the Suez canal. I even paid an additional $100 USD for these changes. This required them to have a competent driver that could cross to the east side of the Suez canal and organise the required access for this, this is a complicated area and needs someone who knows. I made my itinerary extremely clear and we came to a very clear agreement for this. I made sure the tour company knew about this and then when the driver messaging also checked with him before the tour to reconfirm this special itinerary. They all agreed and said this was fine. Even in the car before I paid the additional money I checked again and they confirmed. However, soon after we started the tour it became clear that my driver had absolutely no idea about the changes from the normal itinerary. The driver seem to be completely unaware of anything that was going on outside of the standard tour. I had to babysit him with a GPS to get him to go every location. Considering he wasn't a driver that understood the Suez canal, this caused a lot of issues. This wasn't the driver's fault, It was clear the tour company left him out to dry. I felt sorry for the driver. We missed many locations due to this and we ended up with the military holding my tour guide for a detailed interview for about an hour and a half which was extremely disturbing for me.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the miscommunication regarding the customized itinerary. This was an internal coordination issue and not the driver’s fault. We are reviewing our procedures to ensure better handling of special requests in the future. Kind regards, Emo Tours Sweden Team

How far in advance should I book Cairo: Private Full Day Tour Visit Port Said?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cairo?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
