Salem was a fantastic...

Salem was a fantastic guide for our visit to the new Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza. He was very knowledgeable and explained the history and artifacts in a clear and engaging way, while keeping the tour light and fun for the kids. Our children were interested the whole time and felt included in every stop. We felt relaxed, learned a lot, and really enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Would highly recommend Salem to anyone booking this tour

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that Salem made your visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum enjoyable and engaging for the whole family. It’s great to know that the kids felt included and that you all had a relaxing and informative experience. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to Salem. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you on another tour soon! Best regards, Hamdy Ahmed Emo Tours Sweden

Incredibly historical experience.

Our tour guide Ahmed and driver picked us up from our hotel right on time and we started with a historical refresher to get us ready for what we were about to see and experience. Ahmed was very informative and helped us better understand the history behind the pieces we saw. After the museum we stopped at a couple local souvenir shops for a chance to purchase and learn about certain products (spices, oils/perfumes, papyrus paintings). This tour is definitely worth it. Our tour guide and driver were both amazing.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! 🌟 We’re thrilled to hear that you had such an enriching experience at the Grand Egyptian Museum with Ahmed and our driver. It’s great that you enjoyed both the historical insights and the local shopping stops — we love sharing Egypt’s culture in every detail. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we’re so glad you found the tour worthwhile. We hope to welcome you again soon for another memorable adventure with Emo Tours Sweden!

Tour title needs updating

Hotel pickup was ok. The museum itself was impressive despite only the Great Hall being open. Tour title was a bit misleading as the Tutankhamun interactive portion had long ended in May 2024 according to the information desk. Still enjoyed my time there wandering the exhibits on my own (I knew it was only for the museum entry) but if you need more details or background on the items on display, it’s probably better to go with a tour guide

Response from the operator: Dear valued customer, Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding your experience with the GEM Museum and Tutankhamun Exhibition. We're glad to hear that you found the museum impressive! We appreciate your input about the tour title and will look into updating it to better reflect the current offerings. Your suggestion regarding the value of a tour guide for a more detailed experience is also noted, as we aim to provide the best experience possible for our visitors. If you have any further suggestions or concerns, please feel free to reach out. We hope to see you again in the future! Best regards, Emo Tours Team

Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Giza.

How much does Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Giza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Giza is not rushed.

Is Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Giza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cairo Half-Day Tour: Grand Egyptian Museum start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Giza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Giza?

+

On Outty we rank every Giza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pyramids Sphinx Camel ATV Bike Shopping and Nile Dinner Cruise, Cairo 8 Hour Private Tour of Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Nile Felucca or Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Giza?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
