Amazing Food Tour Experience!
Amazing Food Tour Experience! I had an amazing experience on this food tour! We explored Downtown Cairo, enjoyed a delicious traditional Egyptian breakfast, relaxed at a local café, tasted one of the best koshary meals I've ever had, and then walked through Khan El Khalili and Al-Muizz Street, where we bought beautiful Egyptian souvenirs. Everything was very well organized, and the experience felt authentic from beginning to end. The food was fresh and delicious, and every stop had its own unique story and atmosphere. A special thanks to our tour guide, Ismail, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. He explained the history, culture, and local traditions in a very engaging way, making the whole experience both fun and educational. I highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Cairo. If you're looking for an authentic Egyptian food and cultural experience, this tour is absolutely worth it. Thank you for such a wonderful day—I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family!

Best food tour for solo female traveler
I really recommend this tour, especially for solo travelers. The tour guide is funny, informative, and polite. The food was delicious and there were some types of food I had not heard about before. When i come to Egypt next year with my son, I will definitely book this tour again!

Excellent food tour and insight into Egyptian culture
We had a great food tour with Mohamed. Fortunately, our tour focused on food and did not include a shopping experience. Mohamed picked us up on time at our hotel at 5 pm. He and the driver maneuvered us through rush hour to our food tour. The tour was in a very crowded part of Cairo where there were few tourists. We felt we saw Cairo as few tourists do. We visited several restaurants. Mohamed described the foods and encouraged us to taste the foods by themselves and then in combination. Traffic is crazy in Cairo, and Mohamed made sure we were always safe. He was aware of situations and made sure we were safe, even if we thought other options would be more "authentic ." Mohamed was very caring. When we told him that we were collecting coins for our Grandson, he insisted on giving us some. Mohamed was a caring, wonderful guide.

authentic and full of charm
We decided to blend two tours into one incredible day, and I’m so glad we did. A big thank you to the Explore Egypt Tours team for making it seamless! Our guide and driver, Esmail, met us right on time. He was not only welcoming and knowledgeable but also shared fascinating insights, not just about Egyptian cuisine, but everyday life in Egypt as well. The food stops were authentic and full of charm, little hidden gems we’d never have discovered on our own. And trust me, you won’t leave hungry! One of the highlights was exploring a vibrant local bazaar afterward, where we could wander, shop, and soak in the atmosphere at our own pace. Special thanks to our consultant for organizing everything so efficiently and at the last minute. We felt safe, cared for, and completely at ease throughout the day. I truly appreciated how everything on my bucket list was thoughtfully included, especially the traditional Egyptian breakfast it was delicious and made me feel like a true local. Safe to say, that dish is going to be a must every time I come back to Egypt! 😍 Highly recommend this experience for anyone wanting a genuine taste of Egypt with top-tier guidance.

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Giza.
How much does Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Giza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Giza is not rushed.
Is Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Giza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems?
+
Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cairo Food Tour in Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Giza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Giza?
+
On Outty we rank every Giza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pyramids Sphinx Camel ATV Bike Shopping and Nile Dinner Cruise, Cairo 8 Hour Private Tour of Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Nile Felucca or Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Giza?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Giza?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
