Traveler reviews
1 verified traveler reviews for Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience. Ratings and reviews provided by Viator and Tripadvisor.
Great idea, could be fun, but clues need updating and more clarification
The hunt concept is wonderful and clearly there was effort to put this together. But there were significant problems with the process to start and many of the clues. Maybe we just weren't clever enough to solve, but the unsolved challenges took away from the satisfaction and enjoyment. The hunt was not idiot proof, nor updated as answers changed, nor were some clues clear enough to execute. An early clue asked how many dresses were in the window. Yes there were four manikins, but two of them have been decorated with shorts or pants, not dresses yet the answer was 4 in the system. One clue on Cherry St said walk until you see the bell tower....well at that spot there was a bell tower in 3 directions. Clue 17-18 required a 5 block walk while clue 2-3 was in fact a walk backwards (which was complicated, not intuitive, and frustrating). We never found 3 of the clues though we searched for a long time...the clues were not conclusive. The website help was horrible. Phone numbers just went to unanswered voice mails. AI-Bot's did not get detailed enough with answers. It took me more than 90 minutes just to figure out how to start the damn thing. Turns out registration was not done correctly but there was not check and balance to help me get straightened out and like I said the Help info was useless. The cost was unclear as well. My wife signed up and bought a team price ($35) when all that was needed was an individual ($13) since we were not trying to compete with anyone...just a fun afternoon with friends. Didn't seem fair. Again, a great concept and half of it was fun to do. No sure if I'd do it again.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful feedback. We genuinely appreciate both the positive comments about the concept and the constructive criticism. We are very sorry to hear about the frustrating start to your adventure and the difficulties you encountered with some of the clues and support resources. A purchase through Viator relies entirely on their process which is to send out an email with lots of information only part of which are our important registration instructions. Our self guided experiences rely heavily on clear instructions and accurate clue validation, so when clues become outdated or ambiguous due to changes in the real world environment, we understand how that can negatively impact the experience. Your feedback is extremely helpful and the in game Problem Report feature usually manages this for most players. All feedback is reviewed by our content team so we can verify and/or improve reported sections. Outdoor scavenger hunts do occasionally require updates as cities evolve, but we agree that clues should remain intuitive and fair whenever possible. We also apologize for the confusion regarding registration and pricing. Our team option is intended for groups playing competitively on separate devices, while individual purchases are designed for a single device experience. We understand how that may not have been sufficiently clear during checkout. We are glad to that most of the experience was enjoyable, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to provide such specific feedback. Reviews like yours help us continue improving these adventures for future participants.

Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Burlington.
How much does Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Burlington usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Burlington is not rushed.
Is Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Burlington, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Burlington can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Burlington and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Burlington Scavenger Hunt Interactive Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Burlington within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Burlington?
+
Burlington, VT packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Burlington by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Burlington experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Burlington Signature Guided Brewery Tour, Public Daytime Sailing Cruise, Small Group 5-Day Tour Vacation Package in Vermont. When is the best time to visit Burlington?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Burlington, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Burlington?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
