Great day but book directly with BudpestBikeBreeze

The tour was great and a wonderful way to get out of Budapest. I highly recommend it. On the other hand, booking it through trip advisor was a nightmare. We were charged for e-bikes after telling the agent two times that we did not want them and again when we questioned the final price (nearly double what was advertised). The local bike company is great but they couldn’t do anything about it since we booked thru a third party.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words about the tour—we’re really glad you enjoyed the experience and getting out of Budapest with us! We’re very sorry to hear about the frustration you had with the booking process through TripAdvisor. Unfortunately, as you mentioned, third-party bookings are handled externally, which limits what we can adjust on our side. That said, we completely understand how disappointing that experience must have been, and we truly appreciate you bringing it to our attention. For future bookings, we always recommend reserving directly with us so we can ensure everything is exactly as you prefer from the start. We’d love to welcome you back again for a smooth and enjoyable experience from beginning to end!

A Village Worth Visiting

Just take the urban train to Szentendre and spend the day wandering up and down its cobblestone streets and alleys. Szentendre is the last stop on the train from Budapest and, remember, the train, like the bus, tram, and metro, is free for travellers 65+.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! Szentendre really is a wonderful place to explore, with its charming streets and relaxed atmosphere. We’re glad you enjoyed the visit and appreciate the helpful tip about getting there — it’s definitely a great day trip from Budapest. 😊

Perfect Day

This was a wonderful tour….. exercise, great food (langos), excellent guide (thank you Akis), beautiful weather and scenery, interesting town of Szentendre. Highly recommend this tour as a way of seeing parts of Budapest one might otherwise miss and of experiencing local life outside the city.

Best tour in our 3 months in Europe.

We have been traveling to various cities in Europe for the last 3 months and this was our best excursion. We are in our 60s and enjoy bicycle tours but this one was wwonderful as we traveled in the city some, biked through nature on Margitsziget, traveled up the scenic Danube and ended in Szentendre. I recommend using e-bikes as it just allowed you to take everything in while traveling. Balazs our guide was amazing. Sharing his knowledge of the area gave us insights you won’t get on a big group tour. His easy going nature, letting us stop to take a picture of a bird I had never seen was so appreciated - he wasn’t driving us to be at a certain place at a certain time. My friend is gluten intolerant and he managed an alternative lunch to accommodate all of us. Szentendre was a beautiful town and we found the souvenirs there were cheaper than in budapest. We had free time to look around and shop. We came back by train which provided a different view of the area. It was 8 hours in total with the right amount of stops for drink and lunch along the way. Highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful and detailed review! We’re truly honored to hear that, out of all your travels across Europe, this tour stood out as the best excursion. It’s fantastic that the route—from city streets to the peaceful paths of Margitsziget and up the Danube to Szentendre—offered the right balance of nature, culture, and relaxation. Balazs will be thrilled to hear your kind words. His thoughtful and flexible guiding style, as well as his knowledge of the area, really shines in experiences like yours—and we're so glad you felt that personal touch, from bird-watching to finding the right meal for your friend. Thank you for the recommendation and for choosing to ride with us.

Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budapest.

How much does Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour cost?

+

Prices start at $108 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budapest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budapest is not rushed.

Is Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Budapest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour?

+

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budapest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budapest and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Budapest to Szentendre bike & boat tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budapest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Budapest?

+

On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup, Budapest free walking tour: Parliament and Shoes Memorial. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Budapest?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Budapest?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
