A Budapest Visitors’ Dream: Zoltan’s Completely Stress-Free, Luxury and Action-Packed Danube Bend Electric Car Tours and
We just wish we had met Zoltan of ZoltanCarBudapest (www.zoltancarbudapest.com), and his fabulous tours, outstanding knowledge, skillful driving of his luxurious smooth electric car and his contagious passion for Hungary, sooner. On a cool September afternoon, after an hour drive outside of the capital city, we enjoyed an action-packed, event and adventure-filled, nearly daylong experience to the glorious Danube Bend and its beautiful surrounding countryside. We covered an enormous amount of ground and shared in great insights and revelations about the history of both Budapest and the country of Hungary, at the heart of Europe, and central to so much upheaval, throughout its 1,000 years. Zoltan, who speaks fluent Hungarian, English and German, is a pleasure to spend time with and his knowledge and expertise on the culture and people of Budapest and Hungary is unparalleled. We spent a faultlessly lovely day in the presence of the Danube Bend’s glory and its spectacular view from the hilltop fortress, the remains of a significant 12th-century Visegrad Castle. An important meeting between the Polish, Czech and Hungarian kings in 1335 and its pivotal treaty regarding central Europe’s fate is re-enacted in wax at the fortress. From its ferry launch, we observed the thousand year-old town of Vac, and, later, roved the charming, previously Serbian, Mediterranean-feeling cobblestone streets and sloping alleyways, taking in the painted homes, galleries and shops of Szentendre, under its colorful umbrella and lampshade canopies. From out of the gate, Zoltan had our every comfort and objective in mind. He greeted us at the door with cold waters, even hand sanitizer for our convenience, and was thoughtful and generous throughout the day. As part of our tour, he covered entry fees, snacks (do not miss Hungary’s signature street treat langos - deep fried flatbread covered and smothered with sour cream, shredded cheese, garlic sauce and the topping of your choice - dangerously good - remember, you were warned!). Zoltan knew just the perfect spot to find the ideal sample, and overall, made our journey flawless and enjoyable at every turn. On our nearly daylong trip, we not only captured one of Hungary’s, perhaps, most beautiful vistas over the Danube but also ventured into the ferry launch where we caught a sweeping shoreline view of the thousand year-old town of Vac and its Turkish-influenced minaret and dome-topped churches and synagogue. We also learned of the town’s resident sculptor whose whimsical miniatures are placed for discovery around the town for a fun scavenger hunt. We had taken ourselves by train to Vac the prior week, and because we did not know the lay of the land and because we were restricted in terms of our walking capabilities, we missed entirely out on this town’s true essence. This goes to show how much an outstanding tour guide and driver as talented, clued-in and well-versed as Zoltan can make for a fully meaningful, full-throttle expedition, where no stone will be left unturned. Who knew, for example, that Hungary once formed the northern most boundary of the Roman Empire, and still possesses Roman remnants, even of a colosseum that outsizes Rome’s? Who knew the founder of the Pulitzer Prize was Hungarian as was the renowned composer Franz Liszt, the inventor of the ball point pen, the rubik cube and many others; Actors Tony Curtis and Zsa Zsa Gabor were Hungarian and movies and music videos filmed in Budapest, a major global hub for filmmaking, are too numerous to name. In sport, Hungarians are often in the top ten for Olympic athletic achievement. Some of the perks of living in Hungary include free public transport for those 65 and older (we saved hundreds on our recent three week stay), and free musical training for upcoming music students. And so it goes. We just don’t know as much as we could about Hungary. Zoltan made our brimming trip fly by with no rushing, and as we hit high point after high point, he knew just how to get us closest to the pedestrian village centers, just where to park as well as some very special galleries, a 100-year old family-owned confectionery and cake shop, and, even, a marzipan museum not to miss! In the works are plans for a full Baroque day in the town of Vac (Baroque Danube Elegance, Budapest-Vác, 4-Hour Private Chauffeur Experience) and for his various tours of Budapest he knows all the memorable hot spots and the full scope of stunning and architectural splendor the city on both the Buda and Pest sides has to offer. He is willing to provide airport transfers, chauffeur services and can customize a wide variety of tours as needed or imagined. Believe us, Zoltan makes your visit so full to overflowing, super easy, and completely, stress-free, to boot. A tour with Zoltan proved to be so worth it, and totally enhanced our visit to the stunning “Paris of the East” and majestic “Pearl of the Danube,” as we’re sure it will do for you, as well. How far in advance should I book Budapest Danube Bend Visegrad-Szentendre Private Car Tour 4 hour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What are the best things to do in Budapest?
+
On Outty we rank every Budapest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Budapest Ruin Pub Crawl +6 Shots +VIP Entries +Drinking Games, Budapest City Landmarks Walking Tour in 2 Hours, Countryside Half-day Gastro-Wine Tour from Budapest Meal & pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Budapest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Budapest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
