This 2.5-hour walk through the neighborhood covers a lot more than that one scene. You'll start at the Choi Gyu-sik Memorial Statue, tied to the 1968 Blue House Raid and a piece of Cold War history most guests have never heard of. From there it's on to Cheongun Literature Library, Seoul's first Hanok library, before climbing the Hill of Poet Yoon Dong-ju for views across Bugaksan, Inwangsan, and Bukhansan. The route passes a stretch of the Seoul City Wall and Changuimun Gate, then wraps up at Mugyewon, a Hanok cultural space where you can sit for a minute before heading back down. Good fit for anyone who wants art, literature, and real history mixed with mountain scenery, minus the crowds you'd hit in Bukchon or Insadong.

What to do on day 4 of your visit
Do this after you have had your fill of palaces and shrines. You will see a different part of Seoul with greater insight into an interesting and generally overlooked neighborhood. The guide was extremly knowledgeable and passionate about his tour. The itinerary was thoughtful, some strenuous walking but carefully planned with breaks. Don't expect too much on the Parasite front. This is a hook to get you interested in the neighborhood, which has so much more to offer.
Response from the operator: Buam-dong tends to reward people who've already done the palace circuit and want something with more texture. Fair point on Parasite, it's the entry hook but the neighborhood itself is the real reason to go. Glad the pacing worked, that route has enough elevation change that the breaks aren't optional.

Away from the shops
I loved this tour. My guide, Kangsil, was very patient and answered all my questions. I really liked learning about the history, artists and great thinkers of Korea. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the quiet and hidden part of Seoul.

BE IN THE KNOW ABOUT BUAM-DONG!
If you want to enrich your experience in Seoul, this is the tour for you! Jon is an excellent guide and has a wealth of knowledge, and is more than willing to share it. I did this solo, but was in good company with another couple, so there were plenty of opportunities to ask all the burning questions. It went for 2.5 hours, which is the perfect amount of time to hear all the stories and see all the things. It was an even balance between walking, talking and taking everything in. It didn’t feel rushed. This tour was extra special for me, as someone who broadly loves art and enjoys creating. Jon also gives great food and music venue recommendations, so make sure to ask for some! Honestly, getting to know Buam-dong is like knowing a really cool secret. Super keen to explore it more the next time I visit!

Perfect small group tour - one of the best
Loved this tour. Great to get out and see the sights walking. Jon was a wealth of knowledge and really made the tour interesting. We loved it and would do any tours that involve Jon. My 15-year-old daughter loved it too - so it scored highly with the toughest critic of our group :).
