They don’t care about riders, only their profits

Booked a Brussels tour with this firm through Chase Travel and Viator, and the morning of the tour, rain chances increased, before and during the tour (scheduled to run from 10-1:30). I called Chase and they called the firm and the tour guide said it would not rain until noon and the weather would be “manageable” so they refused a refund. That turned out not to be true. It started raining lightly about 11:15. It’s now noon, still sprinkling, and roads are all wet. The forecast currently says rain is likely until about 1:30, the entirety of the tour. I’m not comfortable navigating this city’s streets if they are wet at all. It’s one thing if you’re local and used to these conditions—but we’re all tourists! Not happy in the least with this firm’s response—you could have easily made an exception. What would it have cost you, maybe 15-20 euro profit? At best, it’s poor customer service. At worst, negligence.

Response from the operator: Your review does not reflect who we are at all. Unfortunately, we didn’t speak directly on the phone, and our communication took place via the Viator booking platform. I invite you to read our other reviews, where you’ll discover that we do care deeply about our participants. Or why not join us on a bike tour next time, so you can really get to know us. You wrote this review at noon, you could have waited until after the bike tour before writing your review because it didn’t rain at all until 1:30 p.m. There was a light shower for about half an hour during the 3.5h bike tour. That's not a reason to cancel the tour. The guide took care of the group and went for a drink break during that time. The participants had a really enjoyable tour while you were writing negative reviews about us. We’re flexible with last-minute cancellations when someone is sick or has had an accident. But in this case, there was no reason for cancellation, so we applied the general terms and conditions. You know the flexible cancellation policy when you book the tour. The chance of a light rain shower had already been forecast the day before. You could have canceled your booking yourself free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour. And please keep in mind that when you book a bike tour, we reserve a spot and a bike for you that we cannot give to anyone else. I'd like to give you two pieces of advice to conclude: please, when you don’t know the company you’re dealing with, think twice before leaving reviews like that and making unfounded negative comments. We’re a non-profit organisation, we don’t care so much about making a profit. And second, next time, don't be so anxious about a few drops of rain ...

Brussels on bike - what a delight

Genuine respect and thanks for our guide, a master-storyteller, who unfolded Brussels, really in front of our eyes, as a beautiful melting pot of influences and cultures. Never seen our own capital from this marvellous point of view: how its identity was shaped through its geographical and cultural history. And all of this in a blissful quiet and varied biketour.

Response from the operator: Oh wow, what a nice review! Thank you so much for the time you took to write us, and for the photos! We're happy that you had such a wonderful time during your bike tour and enjoyed your guide's explanations :) see you soon in Brussels!

    Biking with Philip

Philip was very knowledgeable about his city and country. He was proud to show us so many of the aspects of Brussels, not just the “pretty” aspects. We went to different areas where he told us about the history, future, and way of life; then and now. The stop at a place for a beverage was a treat as they had locally made sodas! I would highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Beth, thanks a lot for writing us this nice and comprehensive review! We are happy that you had such a great bike tour with your guide Philippe, could discover Brussels' highlights and hidden gems, and that you enjoyed the break on the way! Have a nice day The Cactus Brussel à vélo team

Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Brussels.

How much does Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems cost?

    +

Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Brussels usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Brussels is not rushed.

Is Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 221 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Brussels, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems?

    +

Around 77 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Brussels can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Brussels and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Brussels bike tour: Discover Highlights & Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Brussels within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Brussels?

    +

On Outty we rank every Brussels experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Mary's Famous Beer and Chocolate Tour in Brussels, Brussels: Historical Walking Tour with Chocolate & Waffle Tasting, Brussels Chocolate Beer Waffle and Belgian Whiskey All-in-One (Small Group) Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Brussels?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Brussels?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
