    Great Tour!

Greg was fantastic! He knew so much about the Brooklyn area and shared some great historical stories. And the food stops were all delicious! He also did a nice job catering to one of our group that needed GF options. Great tour!

Not really a good tour but a small history tour

Let me just say that Joanne was sensational. My wife and I thought her to be very professional and courteous during the entire tour. My only gripes are that we did so much more walking than we did experiencing the foods. Much more history given than tastings. I would have loved it more if there were much closer food stops and descriptions about their establishments and locations than what was provided. We were also disappointed in the very small bites provided at the food stops. Even the slice of pizza we received were cut in half to share. Portions provided were ridiculously small to say the least. I would have preferred to pay more to receive single serving at each stop as opposed to dissecting a single serving to accommodate tour participants. Again, the tour guide was wonderful but wanted to point out our concerns around labeling this a food tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Dana, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us following your time in New York. We are delighted to hear that Joanne made such a positive impression and that you found Joanne to be professional and courteous throughout the experience. We also appreciate your comments regarding the balance of walking, historical information and food tastings. We understand that travellers can have different expectations of what a food tour will entail, and we are sorry to hear the experience did not fully align with yours. This tour is designed as a walking experience that combines local history, culture and storytelling with a number of tasting stops, with the included portions intended to collectively equate to a meal rather than full individual servings at each location. We recognize that some travellers may prefer larger portions or a greater emphasis on the food tastings themselves, and we appreciate you taking the time to share this perspective. All you have provided will be helpful when we conduct our internal reviews which take into account feedback such as yours. Kind regards, Intrepid Urban Adventures Team

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Brooklyn and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Brooklyn?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Brooklyn?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
