I've been living in Lagos for 18 years and during this time I've learnt a great deal about the history of Portugal and the port town of Lagos. Alongside this I've picked up many secrets on great restaurants, bars and places of interest along with a bunch of money saving tips for travellers. I like to entertain so I promise a few laughs along the way.

Can’t miss your and guide
First of two tours I did with Brodie. This was a nice relaxed tour, a lot of energy from Brodie and a lot of fun facts. He gave us a bunch of things to try during travels and some history of Lagos and Portugal. The tour seemed more like hanging out with an old friend than doing a tour. If you’re in the Lagos/algarve region you’d be doing yourself a disservice if you don’t book at least one of Brodie’s tours!

It was ok
It was an ok tour. Didn’t really learn as much about the history of the city as we would have liked. Pointed out a couple of paintings on electrical boxes to describe the carnation revolution of 1964, took us through the fish market, passed out some coupons for places to eat… barely touched on the slave trade which is a huge historical point in this city. We did learn about why there are some rundown buildings (nothing to do with their earth quack or tsunami), an easy way to understand Portuguese words and about some of the statues that are around town. He was pleasant and you could tell how much he fell in love with this city (he’s from Australia I believe), and at times I could sense a sadness in how things are changing since he first arrived many years ago.
Response from the operator: Lynne, I reckon you were OK, nothing more but the fact I can’t remember you says you weren’t anything special. My walking tour is however, I pointed to some street art on an electrical box to teach you about an important date in Portuguese history , the Carnation Revolution of 1974 (not 64) maybe listen before being a keyboard warrior. I talk about the slave trade, like most people I like im not woke, if you wanted a slave history tour visit the museum I informed my guests exists and can be visited for a mere €3. I taught you the entire history of the earthquake and tsunami of 1755 and more than 100 words. Sorry you’re impossible to please, good luck to your husband

Great tour, friendly guide, great English.
This was an interesting and informative tour of Old Town, Lagos. Brodie is a personable and friendly guide, who was also in tune with the group. He gives lots of great tips on things to do and restaurants. I would highly recommend. Thanks Brodie!

Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lagos.
How much does Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $17 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lagos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lagos is not rushed.
Is Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 227 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lagos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour?
+
Around 79 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lagos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lagos and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lagos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lagos?
+
On Outty we rank every Lagos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small-Group Kayak Tour: Magic of Ponta da Piedade, Lagos, From Lagos: Kayak Tour of Ponta da Piedade Caves by Boat, Boat trip to the grottos at Ponta da Piedade, Lagos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lagos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lagos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour?
+
Included: Snacks. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Where is the meeting point for Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour?
+
Jah Shaka Surf Shop is in the old town of Lagos, very centrally located. Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.
What languages is Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Brodie's Historical and Fun Lagos Walking Tour?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
