Amazing views from the river.
This was an amazing way to experience Brisbane, and the views from the river were stunning. Our instructor made sure we had a great time, and that we were well prepared and safe.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to write an awesome review! :)

Disappointing Experience
I booked 2 twilight kayak sessions on the Brisbane River for my husband’s birthday gift last night, 18/4 at 5pm. My husband, Ben, and teenage daughter both kayaked last night at 5pm and they had a very disappointing experience. Below is an account from my husband on the twilight kayak that took place last night. Based on what I paid, the whole experience was very disappointing for my husband and daughter. My husband’s experience is detailed below: Four people were late and we didn’t start walking to the jetty until 5.15. By the time we were on the water it was 5.30 and the sun had pretty much gone down when it was meant to be a sunset kayak. Four of the people had never kayaked before and one fell in soon after we started. We sat stationary on the water for 20 minutes waiting to get started again. Because of the novice paddlers, we had to keep stopping and waiting. All in all for the 1.5 hr session, we did about 20 minutes of paddling.
Response from the operator: Thank you for visiting Riverlife and for sharing your thoughts. We’ve noted your comments regarding our sunset kayak tour. Feedback like yours helps us keep improving our service. We hope to give you an even better experience next time.

A different way to enjoy the Brisbane River on a Friday evening.
I received a couple of vouchers for the Twilight Brisbane River Kayak adventure for a birthday gift and we finally were able to use them. Definitely no regrets. The evening was perfect, weather was clear and the people at Riverlife Brisbane were amazing. Our guide/instructor Lucas was fantastic. He took time to talk through all the safety aspects of what we were about to undertake. When we were in the water, he was always checking in to make sure everyone was ok and not lagging behind. Great night out, it was so relaxing on the water paddling along at your own pace, watching the boats go by and listening to the music coming from the various night spots along the river. Great for all ages and fitness levels. Looking forward to doing it again.
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your review! We're glad you had a great Friday evening out on the water for your Twilight Kayak and that Lucas took such good care of the group. It's definitely a relaxing way to take in the river atmosphere and city lights. :)

A little underwhelming
We have just got back from twilight kayaking. My son bought it for me as a Christmas present so we could do an activity together. We have never done it before. We had a french instructor and a lady with like a shaved head. We had instructions on how to ride etc, but that was it, no support in putting floating jackets on, we each sort of helped each other. I was quite scared and nervous, but there was no care at all. Once in the water, we were on our own. No instructions, no encouragement, not even a conversation when asking instructors questions. It is sold as a tour, there is absolutely no tour, you are on your own once in that water. I didn’t get to see the sights properly of the beautiful city, because the group must have thought they were in the olympics and were off. Myself and my son lagged behind the whole way with no support. It states there are changing rooms, but we were not told where these were or guided so i ended up getting changed in a toilet., so disappointing indeed. I would do this again, but next time i will take my time and get the experience i wanted to have this time. The instructors were just rude and couldn’t give a damn, which is such a shame.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We aim to provide great outdoor experiences for all our guests, and it sounds like we missed the mark during your visit. Feedback like yours helps us keep improving our service. We hope to give you an even better experience next time.

It was quite challenging...
It was quite challenging but felt so rewarding once completed. I would definitely do it again. And the staff were patient and helpful.

Brisbane City Twilight Kayak: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Brisbane.
How much does Brisbane City Twilight Kayak cost?
+
Prices start at $71 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Brisbane usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Brisbane City Twilight Kayak take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Brisbane is not rushed.
Is Brisbane City Twilight Kayak worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Brisbane, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Brisbane City Twilight Kayak?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Brisbane City Twilight Kayak suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Brisbane City Twilight Kayak?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Brisbane can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Brisbane and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Brisbane City Twilight Kayak start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Brisbane within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Brisbane?
+
On Outty we rank every Brisbane experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include North Stradbroke Island WILDLIFE Adventure Tour from Brisbane, Australia Zoo Day Trip from Brisbane, Ultimate Brisbane Walking Tour (Small-Group, Drink Included). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Brisbane?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Brisbane?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Brisbane City Twilight Kayak?
+
Included: Kayaking Equipment; Showers and change rooms; Personal Flotation Device; and 90-Minute Guided Kayak. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Where is the meeting point for Brisbane City Twilight Kayak?
+
Meet at Riverlife Adventure Centre 15 Min Prior to session. Please check Riverlife Website for "Getting Here" Instructions. Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.
What languages is Brisbane City Twilight Kayak offered in?
+
It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Brisbane City Twilight Kayak?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Brisbane City Twilight Kayak if the weather is bad?
+
This experience depends on good weather. If it is canceled because of poor weather, you are offered a different date or a full refund.
