Amazing early morning!

I loved the trek up Mount Batur although it was early morning -) It was quite busy but a very peaceful and not too difficult way up. The views were stunning and the guide let me take my time enjoying the sunrise and the monkeys before heading down. In my opinion the same way down would have been nicer than walking down the road, but that did not spoil my experience. Myguide was very nice and his English was really god I learned a lot about the culture and his way of live which was also really interesting.

Great Experience

Highly recommend the sunrise trek of Batur and Greenbike Adventures made it a breeze! Very easy to book through the website (and you get a discount booking directly through them). Good communication and they will confirm your pick up the night before. Payment made day of the trip (cash easiest, card accepted, but stop at the office on the way back). Staying in Ubud, picked up at 2:30 AM for departure to the mountain. Geetu is a great guide (sorry I cannot remember our driver's name). Friendly, good conversation and taught us a lot. When you arrive, you will also meet with a local guide for the climb. Crowded but worth it! It was just our group of 2 plus Geetu and our local guide. Reasonably priced and worth it, especially including transportation. Breakfast on the mountain (watch out, the monkeys will try to steal it). Amazing view and experience overall. Dress in layers. HIke itself is doable, but rocky and can be slippery on the sand if dry. You can stop at hot springs on the way back to the hotel if you like. Restrooms available (for 10K IDR, so bring small bills) Wonderful views on the drive home as well. Thanks for a great day. I will definitely do a biking tour next time.

What a view!

It was worth the 2am pick up to climb Mt Batur! We arrived at the foot of Mt Batur at about 3.30am & began our trek shortly after. You need to have a guide to climb Mt Batur, ours was excellent. There are 2 different routes, the longer slightly less steep climb or the more direct steeper climb. We chose the latter & managed to stagger up to the summit in a little under 2 hours. We retreated to a little hut, where our guide prepared us coffee & a toasted sandwich - a welcome relief as it is quite cold & windy - so take some warm clothes! The view from the top is amazing - we could see Mt Agung quite clearly & the 3 peaks of Mt Rinjani (Lombok) in the distance. The clouds were swirling past us, stars were just starting to fade when the sun came up - a memorable experience. There are a lot of other hikers, so the summit is quite busy. Keep an eye out for the monkeys too - they are keen to share your breakfast! Would definitely recommend!

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.

Is Breathtaking Batur Sunrise Trekking worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Breathtaking Batur Sunrise Trekking?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Breathtaking Batur Sunrise Trekking suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Breathtaking Batur Sunrise Trekking?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Breathtaking Batur Sunrise Trekking start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

+

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
