    A must in Yogyakarta!

Highly recommended! One of the best things in Yogyakarta. Borobudur and Prambanan are essential. We did not see the lava on the Mount Merapi sunrise tour, but it was still worth it. Incredible. Our guide spoke English very well, he was attentive and kind. Thank you very much for everything!

    The wonders of Yogyakarta

We took a wonderful tour accompanied by Ridwan for an entire day to be able to admire the Merapi volcano at sunrise and visit two large temples near Yogyakarta, the Borobudur and Prambanan temples. The organization was excellent, Ridwan came to pick us up at the hotel right on time and accompanied us first to the Jeep excursion to see the sunrise over the volcano, then to see the two temples with two stops, one to taste Kopi Luwak coffee, the other to have lunch before the visit to the second temple. Ridwan was very sweet to us, he gave us numerous pieces of information and suggestions for our vacation in Indonesia without being intrusive. I recommend this tour for those who want to have a concentrated experience of the main attractions of Yogyakarta.

    Yogyakarta tour

We booked the tour with hotel pickup in Yogyakarta, including the climb to Borobudur, the entrance to Prambanan, and Merapi Lava Tour. Our driver, Jarot, was amazing. He was incredibly friendly, accommodating, and shared so much with us about Javanese culture. It was an unforgettable experience that we will always cherish. Thank you, Jarot, for your professionalism and kindness. You made our day truly special! We 100% recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the fantastic review! We’re so glad you enjoyed every part of your Yogyakarta tour and that Jarot took such great care of you with his kindness and cultural knowledge. Your recommendation means the world to us, and we hope to host you again on your next trip! Best wishes, Journeast Indonesia

    Amazing experience

The tour is well planned and we really enjoyed having Irhas as our companion. Didn’t expect the merapi tour to include a jeep (with water activities included altho can opt out if don’t want) so it was AMAZING bc it wasn’t indicated in agoda so it was a pleasant surprise! We start at 7am but by 6.30am Irhas has message us that he will be at our lobby soon which gave us reassurance. We had multiple booking in the past in other countries where there was no contact person and just have to hope someone will show up. So this was a breeze and he was also punctual, and very friendly throughout. He shared stories of the people in jogja during the rides when we asked and is very knowledgeable. On some parts when we are sleepy we also sleep during the car ride as the car is very comfortable. He also brought us for lunch after the merapi which was a delicious meal, as we are quite sensitive with food so this restaurant very aesthetic and tastes good (KALI OPAK RESTO) Afterwards he brought us to prabanam and since the tour guide was optional we didn’t purchase it. So Irhas actually took the extra mile so follow us till outside of the temple and explain on the history. He was very knowledgeable and detailed which we really appreciate as he didn’t have to do all that. He then gave us 1.5hrs so explore the place on our own which we did and even rent hoverboard which was so fun. Overall, 10/10 experience with a solid tour guide. Big up Irhas

Response from the operator: We are so happy you enjoyed the tour! It’s great that the Merapi water activity was a pleasant surprise for you. Providing a stress-free experience—starting with that 6:30 AM message—is exactly what we strive for. We're glad Irhas could share the history of the temples and help you find a great meal at Kali Opak Resto. Thank you for the 'Big up' to Irhas; he’ll be so encouraged by this! Enjoy your memories of Jogja!

Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Yogyakarta.

How much does Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Yogyakarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Yogyakarta is not rushed.

Is Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Yogyakarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Yogyakarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Yogyakarta and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Borobudur Climb up, Merapi, Prambanan All Inclusive Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Yogyakarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Yogyakarta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Yogyakarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Yogyakarta Private Car Hire with Driver, From Surabaya / Malang : Mt Bromo Sunrise - Ijen Blue Fire 2D1N, Borobudur Full Climb Up And Prambanan ALL INCLUSIVE PRIVATE Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Yogyakarta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Yogyakarta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
