Great Time!!!
I would recommend this to everyone. My wife and I had a blast. The village, the people, the guide, the food were all amazing.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We are absolutely delighted to hear that you and your wife had such a great time with us. It is especially rewarding to know that you enjoyed not only the village and the food, but also the people and the experience of spending time with the local community. What makes this experience different from a typical sightseeing tour is that you don't simply visit a village and take a few photos. You actually get involved — you meet local people, discover traditional village life, learn how local dishes are prepared and enjoy a freshly prepared meal together. For us, food is one of the best ways to discover a culture, and our cooking experience gives guests the chance to experience Turkish village cuisine in a very personal and memorable way. Thank you for recommending us to everyone! To our future guests reading this review: if you would like to step away from the usual tourist route and experience the real flavors, hospitality and traditions of the Turkish countryside, we would love to welcome you to Etrim. Come hungry, bring your curiosity, and let us take care of the rest! We look forward to welcoming you and creating your own “Great Time” in Bodrum! 😊

Amazing cultural cooking experience
We had such an amazing time at Etrim village! They organised a personal transfer from the hotel which was so convenient and drove 30 min to the village. The guide Tony immediately made us feel welcome by offering a drink on arrival. Together with the lovely lady we started cleaning the vegetables and created dolma, gözleme and other nice dishes in the kitchen. We didn’t make a dish from scratch to finish with cooking instructions but we took part in the preparation of multiple dishes! She was such a great teacher and wonderful company we enjoyed it to the fullest. Afterwards they finished the dishes for us to eat. I would 10/10 recommend if you want to do some cultural near Bodrum.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful and detailed review! We are absolutely delighted that you had such a memorable time at Etrim Village and enjoyed the experience from the moment you arrived. We are especially happy that you highlighted the personal transfer, the warm welcome from Tony and, most importantly, the time you spent in the village kitchen preparing the food together with our local host. Our cooking experience is designed to be much more than simply watching a cooking demonstration. Guests are invited into the kitchen and become part of the preparation — cleaning and preparing fresh vegetables, making dolma, preparing gözleme and working together on several traditional Turkish dishes. It is a hands-on way to experience Turkish food and village culture. And yes, our wonderful local cooks are a very important part of the experience! Their knowledge, hospitality and passion for traditional recipes are what make the day so special. We also appreciate your honest comment that the dishes were not each cooked completely from start to finish by the guests. The experience is intentionally designed as a **hands-on cultural cooking experience**, where guests participate in preparing several traditional dishes and then sit down together to enjoy the finished homemade meal. Thank you for giving us a 10/10 recommendation! To our future guests reading this review: if you are staying in Bodrum and would like to do something genuinely different from the usual sightseeing tours, come with us to Etrim Village. Meet local people, step into a traditional village kitchen, prepare Turkish dishes together, enjoy a homemade lunch and experience the warmth of rural Turkish hospitality. We would love to welcome you to Etrim and give you your own unforgettable Turkish food and culture experience! 🇹🇷❤️

Not a good start but an excellent finish!
It wasn’t a good start as we arrived at the pick up point at the appointed time to find the office closed. We called Tony the agent who said he’d sent a WhatsApp message the day before changing the time to half an hour later. This didn’t arrive on either of our mobile phones. He arrived and took us to Etrim village at the amended time. The transport was supposed to be air conditioned. Apparently this meant if we were hot we could open the windows! The cooking class was excellent with real hands on activity and the instructor was first class explaining & demonstrating everything fully. We were close to and amongst the village cooks who were cooking for the restaurant. It was very authentic with everything grown locally but how they would cope with more than 2 guests I really don’t know. The final results were excellent and the meal was sufficient for far more than just the 2 of us. Everyone involved was absolutely lovely, it was certainly value for money and we felt that we’d contributed to the village community.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re sorry that the day got off to a frustrating start with the pickup time and the communication. We understand how disappointing it is to arrive at the agreed time and find the office closed, and we appreciate your patience while we resolved the situation. We have taken your comments on board and will continue working to make the pickup process clearer and smoother for our guests. That said, we are absolutely delighted that the experience had such an **excellent finish!** It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the hands-on cooking class and the instructor’s explanations. This is exactly what we want this experience to be—not simply watching a cooking demonstration, but actually getting involved, preparing traditional dishes and learning directly from the people who cook them every day. We’re especially pleased that you appreciated how authentic the experience felt. Being right among the village cooks, seeing the food being prepared and enjoying ingredients grown locally gives our guests a genuine glimpse into **traditional village life in Bodrum**. And as you discovered, the result is a generous homemade meal—far more than enough for just two people! We also love that you felt you were contributing to the local village community. For us, that is an important part of the experience: meeting local people, enjoying their food and hospitality, and supporting a traditional village rather than simply passing through as tourists. Thank you as well for recognizing the value of the experience and for your kind words about everyone involved. We’ll be very happy to share your compliments with the village team and cooking instructor. If you enjoyed this authentic side of Bodrum, we would love to welcome you back for one of our other private experiences. And please recommend us to your friends and family! Perhaps next time you’ll discover the Turkish Aegean from the water with us—**maybe for a whole week aboard a private gulet**. It’s a wonderful choice for families and friends, birthdays, anniversaries, honeymoons, wedding celebrations or simply a special holiday together: a different turquoise bay every day, delicious meals on board, hidden coves and your own captain and crew. **One great day is memorable. Seven days on your own gulet is an experience you never forget.** ⛵💙 We hope to see you again in Bodrum! 🇹🇷

Etrim village cooking experience.
We loved our experience visiting Etrim Village. We were welcomed and driven to the village by Tony who made the day very enjoyable. The people in the village were so lovely, teaching us how to cook traditional Turkish meals and making sure we were cared for throughout the day. If you are looking for a unique and culturally rich day while in Bodrum, I highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are very happy to hear that you loved your day in Etrim Village and that Tony helped make the journey and the experience so enjoyable. But what makes this experience truly special is the village itself — its people, traditions, food and the warm hospitality you experienced throughout the day. This is not simply a cooking class where you watch someone prepare Turkish food. You are welcomed into a real village environment, meet local people and take part in preparing traditional Turkish dishes together. There is time to talk, learn, cook, taste and simply enjoy the slower rhythm of village life. Sitting down afterwards to share a homemade Turkish lunch makes the experience even more memorable. For travelers visiting Bodrum, Etrim offers something very different from the usual beach and sightseeing itinerary. **If you want to see, taste and experience the authentic side of Bodrum and connect with local people, this is exactly the kind of day we love creating.** Since 1990, we have welcomed thousands of guests to Bodrum, and introducing visitors to the region beyond the well-known tourist spots has always been an important part of what we do. We believe the most memorable travel experiences often come from meeting people, sharing food and discovering traditions that you would never experience on your own. Thank you again for recommending us to future travelers. We would be delighted to welcome you back for another Bodrum experience — perhaps discovering our traditional villages again, or experiencing the Aegean from the sea on one of our private gulet cruises. ⛵💙

An authentic small village in Turkey
We enjoyed this little village! We helped cook food- grating carrots, stirring the pot, rolling cheese rolls. It was fun to do together as a family. We grated a lot of carrots, but then never ate anything with carrots, so not sure what they went to. We liked rolling the bread dough and baking it on the fire. We even got to meet Grandma a few houses down. A nice experience.
Response from the operator: Dear Courtney, Thank you for sharing your experience — and we have to admit, **the mystery of the missing carrots made us smile! 😊🥕** You certainly did your part with all that grating, so we completely understand wondering where they eventually disappeared to! We'll have to investigate that one with our village kitchen team. 😊 What makes this experience special for us is exactly what you described: **you don't simply arrive, eat lunch and leave. You become part of the kitchen.** Grating, stirring, rolling the cheese pastries, preparing the bread dough and then baking it over the fire together turns lunch into a family memory rather than just another meal. And meeting **Grandma a few houses down** is perhaps the best description of this experience. This isn't a polished restaurant or a cooking studio created for tourists. You're spending time in a small community, meeting real local people and getting a glimpse of everyday village life in Turkey. For families visiting Bodrum — including those arriving for the day on a **cruise ship** — it's a lovely alternative to conventional sightseeing. We can arrange private transportation from the cruise port, hotel or villa and plan the timing around your day. Children and adults can participate together, learn a little about Turkish food and village culture, and most importantly, actually **do something together** rather than simply following a guide from one monument to another. Thank you again, Courtney, for joining us as a family. **We hope you went home with some good memories, a little Turkish bread-making experience… and considerably stronger carrot-grating skills. 😊** Warm regards, **Bodrum Tour / Onelli Travel**
