    Boat trip to Dragomera

The trip was booked by my husband as a birthday gift. Nice boat, crew and boat trip to the Island of Dragomera. The Island was promoted as being a nature reserve. It is definitely a work in progress and am sure there will be more to see when finished as there were lots of small lizards scurrying about but that was it until walking back to the boat, there were lots of fish. There were signs of pens being built so maybe bringing mountain goats, live stock to the island in the future. You did have the opportunity to swim rather than walk around the reserve but due to the trip being sold as a reserve, we were keen to see what the island had to offer. We had an alloted time frame of around 1hr on the island. We probably spent 30mins and decided that it was too hot and dusty, minus nature so walked back to the boat. On the return journey, we had the opportunity to have a swim which was lovely. We would have been happy with a boat ride and swim. Cold refreshments on board as non for sale on the island. €43-46 Euros for the trip, would pay that for a longer boat trip & swim. Crew made an enjoyable trip, thank you!

    Poor organisation

A nice day, but the organization leaves a lot to be desired We ended up having a nice day and the boat trip itself was beautiful, but honestly we really found the organization and communication underwhelming. When we were dropped off on the island, it was hardly explained what the intention was. We didn’t know how long we would stay there and only found out afterwards via a card that we would be on the island from about 10:30 to 13:00: about 2.5 hours. That’s quite a difference from “getting dropped off somewhere”. It was extremely hot and there was even a sign that you had to drink enough water, but we had no idea we would be there that long. You couldn't buy water on the island. At one point we wanted to go back to the boat to get water, but it had sailed away. Of course, you can expect guests to think for themselves, but if you drop people off on a hot island for 2.5 hours, it's not very much to ask for a clear statement: “Take enough water, because you can’t buy anything on the island.” Especially since you could buy drinks on the boat. As an organization, you even miss out on a great revenue opportunity. Also at lunch it was a matter of finding out for yourself. We had booked with lunch and paid for it, but on arrival at the bay nothing was said about it. We had walked off the boat before we thought: wait a minute, what about our lunch anyway? When we asked, it turned out that we had booked lunch. We then got tapes and some vague explanations about where we should be. If we hadn't asked ourselves, we could have just missed a paid lunch. In our opinion, that is not part of a well-organized excursion. Then the strangest moment: our bag. We had explicitly asked in advance if we could leave it on the boat and were told that was not a problem. Among other things, the bag contained a glasses case with €20 in it. When we returned, there had been other people on the boat, our bag had been moved and the glasses case was open. The €20 was gone. We don't want to accuse anyone, because we don't know exactly what happened. But to be honest: it is a pretty strange situation. Especially since we had asked permission in advance to leave the bag and there was a camera on board. We reported it immediately and it was said that the CCTV would be reviewed and that we would be called. To date, we haven't heard anything. And that's actually exactly the problem with this excursion: we had to chase information all day. When will we be picked up? How long have we been somewhere? Where's our lunch? What should we bring? What happens to our stuff? These are all things that you as a guest should not have to figure out yourself. Again: we had a nice day and the route and boat trip were absolutely worth it. But with a little more communication, clearer instructions and simply a little better organized guidance, this experience could have been much better. Now it regularly felt like we as guests had to figure out how it all worked. Nice excursion, but the organization still has a lot of work to do.

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +
