Still waiting for refund for excursion that was cancelled
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, we booked the Dubai Fountain at Burj Khalifa Lake on 25 December with pick up at our Hotel which we paid for directly to Orient Tours, the tour was cancelled, at the last minute we are still waiting to be refunded for the pick, they are a scam company, not sure what VIATOR is actually doing to get our money back???

Confirmed Tickets… No Tour. Lies, Excuses, and Zero Help.
I booked the Dubai Lake Ride (Ref 1340003401) as the final highlight of our trip. Viator sent a confirmed ticket, so I reasonably trusted that everything was organised. What happened instead was an absolute disaster. 1. The operator refused us — said they were full When we arrived, the local operator told us they had no space. We showed them our confirmed booking — they still refused us. 2. Viator’s support was even worse I contacted Viator immediately on WhatsApp: • I explained we had a confirmed booking • I told them the operator said we weren’t on the list • I told them we were physically at the location • I told them we were devastated, this was our last day Their responses were slow, dismissive, and robotic. 3. Viator claimed: “We didn’t receive any notification” Then later changed the story and said the operator told them it was a holiday and the tour was cancelled. This was completely false — the tour WAS operating, just oversold. I even told Viator that directly. 4. They admitted it was a “system error” In their own words: “It was a system error that booking is confirmed but… it is already full.” So a “confirmed ticket” means absolutely nothing. 5. No attempt to fix the situation I repeatedly begged them to help: “PLEASE HELP ME” “I want to do the activity as paid for” “This is so sad” “This is distressing” “Please try and fix it” Their answer: “There’s nothing we can do.” No backup option, no alternative operator, no compensation. Nothing. 6. The only solution they offered was a refund — in 3–7 business days We’re in Dubai right now, on our last day. We needed the money returned immediately so we could book another activity. Their reply: “As much as I wanted to return your money immediately I have no access to that.” So Viator gets to keep our money for a week while providing zero service. 7. This ruined our final day in Dubai This was supposed to be the final highlight of our trip. Instead we were left stranded with: • No activity • No support • No compensation • No money returned • A completely disappointed family 8. Misleading, unprofessional, and unacceptable Viator sold a “confirmed ticket” for a tour that had no availability. They then offered no real assistance beyond a delayed refund. I now understand why so many travellers say Viator is not reliable. I will be attaching screenshots of the entire WhatsApp chat to show exactly how this unfolded — the lies, the excuses, and the lack of any real help. Avoid Viator at all costs. Book directly with reputable local operators or through companies that actually honour their confirmations.

Great value for money
A Nice short boat trip with great foto and video opportunities, but it's a mess trying to retrieve the tickets. It's better to have a lot of time in advance.

This was definitely worth it. It was so cool to see the fountain so close and the view all around it was really magical. It’s also inexpensive. I definitely recommend.
