Blue Water Express Boat Transfer From Serangan Or Padang Bai To Lombok Or Vice Versa

Good Service, but the Delay Cost Us a Day of Our Holiday

Overall, our experience with Blue Water Express was good. In theory, it is one of the best companies for this type of journey, and everything seems very well organized. However, our departure and arrival were delayed by around two hours. It is important to clarify that we arrived late **because the boat picked us up late**, not because of bad weather or difficult sea conditions. The delay was therefore related to the service itself. Unfortunately, this meant that we lost almost an entire day of our holiday, which was very disappointing, especially when you only have a limited number of days to enjoy your trip. Overall, the organization is good and the service has a lot of potential, but punctuality needs to be improved significantly. A two-hour delay can have a major impact on the whole holiday experience.

Warning: AC may not work

We fortunately had calm seas on our transfer from Gili Air to Serangan. And the service overall was excellent. However the AC did not work and it was quite warm on the 3+ hour trip. The crew was prepared with cold towels towards the end, which made me think this may be an ongoing challenge. This service is reliable and the captain is good (hand steered to ride swell and minimize beating against waves). But be prepared with some extra water, snacks and cool clothing. There are cold beverages for purchase to help as well.

Terrible

Terrible harbor 2 hours later than the time at the websibe,inform people about that! Harbor is tooo small we needed 1,5 hour wait on the boat to arrive at the harbor! Its mess harbor , terrible there! Government need to do sth with that

No communication and failure to comply with their own policies

They don't respond to communications or abide by their stated policies so best to choose a different mode of transportation. There's lots of options out there to get between the islands.

Electrical Fault. Choppy Sea and Local Taxi Mafia.

I did this trip from Serangan harbour to Gili T and then Gili Air>Lombock>Serangan return. To be fair the way to Gili T was really good and I was happy. The ride was smooth and on time. The return was a different story. On return the boat had an initial filter clogging that was ok and fixed pretty quickly but then had an electrical malfunction. We were left floating in the choppy Lombock sea for 45 mins while the crew fixed the fault. Thankfully the weather was ok (if it wasn’t that would have been horrific) and we got there in the end but it really was not a good experience. Better communication was needed from the staff as to what was going on. Please also note that at Serangan harbour there is a local taxi mafia that will not allow you to take a grab taxi. Its ridiculous. I had to walk about 30 mins of the island to get one in the end. They wanted 150000 to get to the airport from Serangan. Maybe it’s reasonable I don’t know, was just the principle of it that annoyed me. You can get a flight from Bali Airport to Lombock. I think I will do this next time.
