Stunning view enjoyable experience!
I’m not quite sure where to begin so I’ll start with where things initially went wrong. Unfortunately our hotel apically failed that we made our reservations two days in advance, but upon arrival, we learned that the booking had not been properly secured as a result there was no English speaking guides available for our scheduled for and understandably limited by ultimately a disappointing start to the experience. That said Alexander at BIJAJUAL waterfalls totally different things around. He was solution, oriented, transparent, and genuinely committed to helping me. He explained that the hotel had only contacted him in the morning of our visit, leaving him with very limited options despite this he went over and beyond to accommodate us and he’s succeeded. We spent approximately four hours with a non-English speaking guide, who, despite the language various was incredibly kind and attempted throughout the entire experience Alberto. Our guy made every effort to ensure we felt comfortable and supported. I only wish I spoke Spanish to fully appreciate everything he had to share. Now about the hike, this is not for the faint of heart. While it’s advertised as 900 meters in particular terms for my fellow American it felt closer to 9 miles it’s a challenging trek requiring endurance and determination interest enough we did not take key to the warnings as we passed fellow New, hikers one saying good luck the second one saying God be with you us thinking nothing of it. We kept it pusher. The waterfall is itself is absolutely stunning and worth seeing at least once. Would I do it again honestly no but I’m glad I did it. It’s a one time unforgettable exchange for advanced bikers for someone who is in good shape. No matter what it will be an incredible adventure for me let’s just say I didn’t done, but came close and had a few deep reflection conversation along the way with God Overall, despite the rocky star, the dedication and professionalism of the team on site made a lasting impression. The horseback ride was incredible at the time, and the water was also very refreshing.

Beautiful time spent in nature. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. Not an easy trek, but highly recommend
A group of 12 of us made the trip. Seven were on horseback and five hiked on foot. The horses are well cared for, and there was even hiking for the people that rode in before horse. We are all visiting from Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Beautiful views and nice people. The swim on the way back was very refreshing

Incredible view
We did the walk instead of horseback, but the horseback makes more sense. At the stables, the trail to see the waterfall is about 1.5km each way and steep, but definitely worth it. The swimming was also refreshing.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us and for your 5-star review! We’re thrilled to hear that you loved our Bijagual tour and that it met your expectations. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon!

Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaco.
How much does Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $259 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaco is not rushed.
Is Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Jaco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaco and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bijagual Waterfall & Horse Back Riding Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jaco?
+
On Outty we rank every Jaco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Arenal Volcano, La Fortuna Waterfall, Hot Springs Combo Tour with Lunch & Dinner, Jason Crocodile Tours, Surf Lessons with Pro Team in Jacó. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jaco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jaco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
