Best Luau experience

WOW! This was my first luau, and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! I opted for the Aliʻi experience, and it was worth every single penny. From start to finish, the entire evening was incredible! The music, dancing, and entertainment were phenomenal, and the food was absolutely delicious! I especially loved learning about the history and culture—it was beautifully shared and made the experience even more meaningful. The setting was breathtaking, welcoming, and full of that special Hawaiian spirit. And the staff were AMAZING! Everyone was so warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. You could tell they truly cared about making sure everyone had a wonderful time. This was such a fun, memorable, and unforgettable experience. I loved every minute of it and would absolutely do it again!

Needed better options.

It almost started to rain so they decided to not host it outside, which is understandable. However, the only options were to attend it inside or reschedule for a time that I would not be here. They would not give me the option to cancel. I opted to do it inside and it was literally a conference room with makeshift stage on it. The tables were set up in ways that you could barely see the stage. I was just very unimpressed and very sad. There was no beach involved no water we had to go outside for the fire show at the end. It was just not worth the money that was spent on it for my honeymoon gift.

Unfortunately, the recent severe weather warnings throughout the state created circumstances where the weather did not allow us to safely remain outdoors at our regular oceanfront location. For the safety and comfort of our guests, performers, and staff, the difficult decision was made to move the lūʻau indoors. We sincerely apologize for your disappointment that you were not able to experience our lūʻau oceanside as it is normally presented. We also understand that an indoor ballroom setting is different from the outdoor experience you were anticipating, and we appreciate your feedback regarding the seating and visibility of the stage. We will share those concerns with our team as we continue to look for ways to improve the guest experience when weather requires us to relocate. Fortunately, the weather improved enough later in the evening for us to bring everyone outside and present our Siva Afi, the traditional Samoan fireknife dance, as part of the evening’s finale. While the weather is beyond our control, we recognize that the experience you received was different from the oceanfront lūʻau you had anticipated. Our goal is always to share the cultures of Hawaiʻi and Polynesia with authenticity, aloha, and genuine hospitality, and we are sorry that this particular evening left you disappointed. Luau at the Wyndham

It is not worth the money that you pay. We paid $191 apiece. The show lasted less than two hours and they hustle you through the food. Well doing the show. The food was OK but not worth that kind of money.

Because of this, the evening moved at a faster pace than our lūʻau normally does, and we understand how that may have made the dinner service and overall experience feel rushed. Great time with good food!

The show was great. Very informative. I learned a lot about the culture on the Big Island as well a the surrounding islands. The music was fun and the food was delicious.
