So so quality
Do not work on time even in calm August and the buses looked tired, not as clean asnthey could have been and unconfortable due to the crammed seats with little leg space for taller people (I'm 185cm tall). A positive aspect was the complimentary earphones for the guided tour audio track. On the other hand and from the outside, Turibus buses looked more confortable and in better condition to me but I did not try their service to be able to comment on their quality.

Yes, I recommend
My husband and I enjoyed this. We were able to see so many great spots around Madrid without having to walk all day. It’s perfect for people who want a really relaxing way to sightsee. Just know there is sometimes a long wait for the next bus.
Response from the operator: Hello! Thank you so much for your review! We are thrilled to hear that our tour offered you and your husband a relaxing way to explore Madrid without the tiring long walks. We also appreciate your honest note regarding wait times. Bus frequency can occasionally be impacted by city traffic, but we are constantly working to keep our schedule as smooth and predictable as possible. Thank you for choosing us for your time in Madrid, and we hope to welcome you aboard again on your next trip! Best regards, Mihaela@BigBusToursTeam

Good but room for improvement
The Blue Line frequency is quite low, so if you get off at one stop, you may have to wait almost an hour for the next bus. This is something that could definitely be improved. Other than that, everything else was good.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback! We are sorry to hear that the low frequency of the Blue Line resulted in such long waiting times when hopping off to explore, and we completely understand how this could affect the overall experience. We truly appreciate your suggestion for improvement and will share it with the relevant team. On a positive note, we are pleased to hear that everything else went well and that you enjoyed the rest of your experience with us. Best regards, Denis @BigBusToursTeam

Fun way to explore
Only had one day to explore Madrid, the Hop on Hop Off bus was a perfect way to see the city. There was plenty of room on the bus and the audio worked perfectly. The bus picked up around every 20 minutes so hopping off and hopping back on was easy
Response from the operator: Hi there! Thank you for sharing your wonderful 5-star review on Viator. We are delighted to hear that our Hop-on Hop-off tour provided the perfect way to make the most of your day in Madrid! It is great to know that you enjoyed the audio guide, found the bus frequency convenient, and had a seamless experience exploring the city. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back on board on your next trip! Madalina@BigBusTours

Not a good way to see the city
The historic route didn’t really go by much of the historic buildings. We sat in traffic and were on busy streets.. couldn’t see much from the bus and the audio was minimal.

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $16 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 339 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour?
+
Around 119 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Big Bus Madrid Hop on Hop off Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
