Not exactly what we expected
Although we had fun walking around the Village, we probably would have had fun whether we paid for this digital adventure/scavenger hunt or not. It's completely remote, so we didn't meet any host in person (although MJ was very responsive via text/call during the 2 hours.) We thought it would have more direction, but it's just a list of things we could or could not do, like take a picture in front of a mural or go to a store to do a "catwalk." We thought it would maybe be more like an escape-room-style of play. It would be nice to have more direction and maybe learn more about the city and history. Also, the starting point was 25 minutes walking distance to The Village. I didn't realize you would need a car for this adventure. It probably would be better if the starting point was changed to The Village and not a diner 1.5 miles away. By car, it's no problem, but if you're telling me it's a 2 hour adventure, let's keep it on-foot and in the same area. Again, my group enjoyed their time in Big Bear, but didn't think the price paid for this was worth it.

Don’t bother
It was terrible. Once we got the instructions, no one wanted to do it. Stupid. We thought there would be puzzles, thinking involved. NOT. It’s a company that does the same thing in multiple cities. Not a local company which I thought I was dealing with.

Scam do not do
This is an actual scam. You will receive a PowerPoint that can be found on Google for any other city. You have to submit photos to a WhatsApp account that is not even managed in real time. The meeting place is just a place that is completely unrelated to the actual scavenger hunt and you will not be able to reach anybody in real time. There will not be multiple people at said meeting place it will just be you there with a PowerPoint. That is if you’re lucky enough to get the PowerPoint which you paid way too much money for. I was never able to access the WhatsApp group because they invited the wrong number and then refused to refund me. This is one of those international scams. Do not fall for it.

Non -traditional experience!
We had a blast! It was so much better than going to a movie or shopping all day! Memories made that we will talk about for a long time!

Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Big Bear.
How much does Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt cost?
+
Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Big Bear usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Big Bear is not rushed.
Is Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Big Bear, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Big Bear can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Big Bear and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Big Bear Bend Scavenger Hunt start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Big Bear within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Big Bear?
+
Big Bear, CA packs its best experiences into walkable neighborhoods, local food, and day trips nearby. Outty ranks every bookable tour and activity in Big Bear by rating quality, review depth, booking demand and value, so you can see the standouts before you book. On Outty we rank every Big Bear experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Family-Friendly Nature Hike around the Big Bear Valley, Big Bear Jeep off-road tour with Hike to Bluff Lake Reserve, A Local's Favorite Hike in Big Bear with Lake Swimming Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Big Bear?
+
Spring and fall bring the best weather and lighter crowds in Big Bear, while summer has the widest choice of tours and evening activities. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Big Bear?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
