Excellent and very informative
What a fabulous day out with Iker from Basque Guides. He was exceptionally knowledgeable and professional, and we all enjoyed the day. An air conditioned shuttle and lunch included, we had insight into the beautiful wine region and culture of the Basque country. We will not forget our day!

Luis was fabulous! Born and raised here in San Sebastián, he knew everything about the history of the restaurants we visited! Everything was wonderful, would definitely book again!

Needs improvement
The guide was nice and food places good but the price was expensive compared to the service. We expected some historical information and close up details of basque food but we didn’t get that. It was more of the guide just bringing us to food places and very little history. This tour needs improvement.

Despite that, you were offered an introductory tour of San Sebastián's history; we took you to historical sites, visited many spots and explained everything you visited. To help travel agencies and future travelers understand the kind of client you can be—and why you complain about our services—we have summarized what working for you entailed for us. This tour was scheduled to start at 7:00 PM; however, at 5:00 PM—instead of calling us regarding a potential urgent change on your end—you sent an email asking to move the start time up to 6:00 PM. Despite being very busy with tours scheduled prior to yours and having only a one-hour window to make the adjustment, we did our utmost to accommodate your request and moved the tour up for you—at no extra cost to you. On this tour, we not only added extra time because you requested but also provided more food than what is included in the standard tour. Here’s the details and inclusions below. We also extended the tour by over an extra hour—again, at no extra cost to you—simply because you were enjoying it, as you yourselves remarked during the tour. Well, despite everything extra we offered you at no cost, you seem to think we need to make improvements to a tour where you were already given more than usual and treated specially at your own request. It is a tour clearly described as being based on food and wines, yet you expected a "two-for-one" deal—combining a city tour and a food tour—and wanted special privileges on top of that… Not only that, but you also took advantage of our professional contacts to ask us to make reservations for you at a winery for the next day—so you could visit on your own rather than joining one of our tours. We were happy to do so, and we asked for nothing in return. The following day, you again asked us for restaurant recommendations outside of our working hours; we provided them, and once more, asked for nothing in return. How dare you be so dishonest? We can back up everything we state with physical evidence—receipts, invoices, schedules, and so on... The only explanation we can see for such a mediocre review is a desire to damage our small business's impeccable reputation—as evidenced by our more than 590 five-star reviews; otherwise, we simply cannot understand your attitude and negative rating after all we have offered to your group. You know the tour price beforehand, it’s published and there a not extra costs; you have all the detailed information, and we strictly honor the agreement—delivering everything you booked and even adding extra time, information and services you didn't pay for. Yet, you seem to think you are entitled to a history tour when you booked a food tour… On that very same day, we ran the exact same tour you booked, and the feedback on our service was flawless—as you can see on Viator. It is quite surprising that the same guide, running the same tour just hours apart, would deliver a different level of service, don't you think? It is deeply disheartening to see people like you try to tarnish the reputation of a company that has never let anyone down and has always acted responsibly with every tour and client. We hope that in the future, when booking a service with any company, you make sure you are booking what you are expecting, try not to get more for less, you read all carefully and review the details—what is included and what isn't—and consider whether the price is reasonable for you, even if you happen to receive complimentary extras at no cost, as we provided in your case.
