Unprofessional tour guide and unprofessional tour operator
You are lucky if you get the right driver/guide. We did the half day tour which was quite boring and not worth it except for the Tirta Temple. The main issue was our driver/guide who was keen on making commissions and taking to art market and coffee plantation which are not part of the trip and waste the time. But the worst part was, he was supposed to take us inside the temple and guide us by explaining everything about the temple, but he insisted he was starving and has to have his lunch and left us alone, when he could have actually had his lunch when we had our lunch. Throughout the trip he didn't talk much about Bali but keen on asking personal questions about us. At the end, he rushed up, saying we have overrun our time. It's was a 6 hour trip. We booked for 10.00 am, arrived 40 mins late cos we had taxis cancelling us and the guide said no rush, take your time and at the end, he said we ran out of time but he will do a favour for us. When dripping us, he felt guilty and said, sorry if I made any mistake. That proves he was on the wrong. The operator responsible for this tour messaged us the guide will pick us up in the Hotel, but the next morning asked us to cancel the trip as they cant pick us up in our hotel or we have to travel an hour to reach the driver in another city. Very u professional to agree and disagree. The whole trip was a very unhappy one.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr. Ravi, Our Indian Guest Thank you for your review. We respect all feedback and we have recorded every moment of your tour on the travel date, but we must clarify the facts for future guests reading this. 1. On the 6-Hour Tour: You booked a 6-hour half-day tour for Uluwatu to Ubud. We informed you before the tour that this is not enough time, as Uluwatu to Ubud takes 2.5 - 3 hours one-way with Bali traffic. You decided to proceed. 2. On the Meeting Point: We originally arranged hotel pickup. To help save your tour time after your request to change plans, we mutually agreed to meet at McDonald's Sanur. You arrived 1 hour late to this new meeting point. When our guide said "no rush, take your time," it was out of Balinese politeness, not an agreement to extend the 6-hour service for free. 3. On Our Guide: Our guide respectfully asked for your permission for a brief lunch at the temple, and you approved it at the time. The art market and coffee plantation are standard cultural stops on this route, not commission stops. His apology at drop-off was a gesture of respect and hospitality, not an admission of fault. He continued the tour professionally despite feeling unwell. Despite the 1-hour late start, we delivered the full service including vehicle, fuel, driver and guide time. We always communicate honestly about what is realistic within the booked time. Best regards, Putra Kencana Manager Operational Ubud Tour Driver Bali

Our guide Adi was really nice and accommodating. I needed slippers for the waterfall and he kindly stopped by a place where I can get one. The half-day tour is a really good experience to get to main spots of Ubud without dragging it too long. He also shared great imformation about the places we went.

Why this scores 81
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.
How much does Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ubud is not rushed.
Is Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Best Of Ubud Half Day Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ubud?
+
On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ubud?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ubud?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
