Excellent tour of Rome.
I would highly recommend this tour. Our driver (Alfredo) arrived at the port on time. The car was spotless. He gave us a very knowledgeable history lesson about Rome and the Romans on the way. He also managed to negotiate the narrow streets of Rome to bring us as close as anyone could get to the major sites. It was definitely worth it.
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind review and for taking the time to share your experience with us! We are delighted to hear that Alfredo provided you with a memorable tour and that you appreciated his knowledge of Rome. We take great pride in our ability to ensure both comfort and convenience while navigating the city, and we are pleased that this added to your overall experience. We sincerely hope to welcome you back for more incredible adventures in the future 🤩 Thank you again for choosing Joe Banana Italy! Warm Regards, JB Italy Team 🇮🇹

The Best Trip Ever
We had party of 8. Used a shore excursions tours. Pre & post. Also, for Naples, Pompeii, Isle of Capri, Sicily, & Venice. All vehicles are top of the line. Drivers & Guides are Excellent. Guides were fun, interactive, knowledgeable, and so very much accommodating to our every need. This was our 3rd time using them. Nunzia was THE best to work with. She customized our tours to US. Pure PERFECTION. Can’t rec them enough….

It is worth it!
My husband and I were on a cruise and booked a private driver through Joe Banana to take us around Rome. We were picked up from Port in a new Mercedes Benz by a driver that looked like he was from the band, the Beatles. His name was Damiano and he was absolutely amazing. The food on our cruise was terrible so he brought us to a breakfast place. Then we had tickets and passes provided by this company to the colosseum. Afterwards we had lunch and Damiano took us wherever we wanted to go. He had phone chargers, cold waters and candies for us in the car. He was a safe driver and a great guide since he is native to the city. We saw so much and were so glad we chose this instead of a group tour. Hannah was our concierge and did a great job organizing everything and was very responsive. This was first class service and we highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Dear Keith, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your fantastic experience. We are thrilled to hear that your private tour of Rome was the highlight of your trip. We are very happy to hear that Damiano provided you with exceptional service and that his local knowledge and safe driving made your day both enjoyable and memorable. Thank you for your kind words about Anna. it is our goal to ensure that every detail is perfectly arranged, and we are happy to know that her efforts helped make your tour seamless and stress-free. We are honored that you found our service to be first class and appreciate your high recommendation. We would be delighted to assist you again with future travels to our "Bella Italia" 🇮🇹 Thank you once again for choosing our company. Warm Regards, JB Italy Team ☺️

Best time in Rome thanks to Joe Banana and our driver!
What a joy it was to travel from our cruise ship to Rome in the luxury of a Joe Banana vehicle. We fit all of our luggage in and were off to see the sites of Rome with our amazing driver, Giuseppe. He was informative and fun, he filled us in on what was to see and his communication as to where we would be picked up and how to get a hold of him was impeccable. We loved our post cruise experience and immediately fell in love with Rome! Added bonus was definitely being dropped off at our hotel! Thank you so very much, Joe Banana!! You were the perfect introduction to Rome.
Response from the operator: Dear Erika, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with Joe Banana Italy on your journey from the cruise ship to Rome. Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Best of Rome: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Best of Rome cost?
+
Prices start at $188 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Best of Rome take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Best of Rome worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Rome?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Best of Rome suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Best of Rome?
+
Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Best of Rome start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
