Igreja Matriz de Sao Sebastiao
Located near the town gate just off the seafront, the Parish Church of Saint Sebastian dates from 1533 when construction was started on the former site of a chapel dedicated to the same saint. Your trip to Ponta Delgada will not be complete until you visit the Church of St. Sebastian. Built according to the ancient Azorean architecture, this church will entice you with its simple façade. The exterior of the church is simple in style, with oceanic murals adorning the walls. The interior, however, is beautifully ornate. The biblical murals and tastefully decorated altar are sure to stay in your heart. Do not miss the bell tower next to the church. You will be able to see the ocean and feel the breeze as the bell rings.

Igreja de Sao Pedro
St. Peter's Church is a building from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, which took the place of an old temple from the sixteenth century. Inside, it features a statue of orgado from the sixteenth century. The ‘medieval’ parade known as Cavalhadas that takes place every year on June 29, St. Peter’s day, culminates in this church.

Fort Saint Blaise considered to be the most important example of military architecture of the 16th century and the most powerful fortification on the island, it was built on a point in the primitive berth of Ponta Delgada, with the function of its defense against attacks from pirates and corsairs, formerly frequent in this region of the Atlantic Ocean.
