Cruise Passenger - Panama City tour with Miraflores lock
We are currently on a Princess cruise with a port call in Panama, and this was truly an exceptional day trip thanks to our amazing guide, Edgar. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Panama’s history, culture, and nature, explaining everything with passion and clarity. He arrived right on time and was professional, personable, and attentive throughout the entire tour. We never felt rushed — Edgar gave us plenty of time to enjoy each stop, including a wonderful walk around Casco Viejo (Old Town). One of the highlights was an unforgettable coffee tasting featuring the #1 ranked coffee in the world, along with so many other unique experiences that made the day incredibly special. We’ve taken hundreds of tours through Viator over the years, and we can honestly say that Edgar is the best guide we’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a memorable, smooth, and well-run experience in Panama, look no further. John & Yolly from Hawai‘i
Response from the operator: Hi Yolly, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review. It truly means a lot. I really enjoyed meeting you and John and getting to know you both during your visit—sharing Panama’s history, culture, nature, and of course our world-class coffee is always a pleasure, but it’s even more special with guests as kind and engaging as you two. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed Casco Viejo, the coffee tasting, and all the little moments that made the day memorable. Knowing that you’ve taken so many tours through Viator and still consider this one of your best experiences is incredibly humbling. Thank you for that honor. I hope the rest of your cruise is amazing, and if you ever return to Panama, it would be my absolute pleasure to welcome you back and show you even more of what makes this country so special. Warm regards, Edgar

Perfect, quick tour of Panama!
Edgar was a fantastic guide showing me the city and canal with a ton of great information about the history and culture of the country. He made sure to include as much as possible while also remaining attentive of my flight times and staying within the 2 hours.

First visit to Panama
For starter, the timeliness of The pickup from the hotel. The calmness, gentle manner of Edgar. The comfort of the vehicle. The temperature of the vehicle. The thoroughness of the history of Panama and the Panama Canal. The timing of visiting the canal during the incoming of a ship. Took time to offer breaks, getting food and drink. Definitely worth the 2 or more hours. Would definitely recommend. Would definitely do again! All our heart this was the most calm, relaxing tour of Panama we have experienced thus far.
Response from the operator: Thanks Kendra so much for taking the time to share your experience. Was amazing getting to know you both and glad you enjoyed the tour. Hope you continue having a terrific time here in Panama!

A must do for those with little time!
My trip to Panama City was short, but sweet and Edgar certainly was the element that made this short trip worth while. This tour gave me the opportunity to view popular sites of Panama without standing in the blazing heat! Edgar had a well of knowledge for each site he took me to, and was able to answer all of my questions without pause. I thoroughly enjoyed the lectures about Panama's history, but enjoyed our personal conversation as well. If you're in a time crunch, this is a must do!
Response from the operator: Thanks Stacey for the opportunity to show you around Panama and to share about our history. I really enjoyed getting to know you as well, and happy to hear I was able to contribute to making your trip worthwhile!

Perfect tour guide, easy tour!
Edgar was a phenomenal tour guide! He was responsive, flexible, and full of great advice and information that made the tour perfect. He showed me some places I didn’t even know to ask about. He was also a great photographer since I didn’t have anyone with me to take pictures of me at the sights. Edgar is very personable and professional. I can fully recommend this tour, and especially Edgar if you need a tour guide!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words Mindy, it was a pleasure to meet you and show you Panama. Glad you enjoyed your time here and also got some great pictures to remember your visit!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Panama City.
How much does Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee cost?
+
Prices start at $165 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Panama City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Panama City is not rushed.
Is Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Panama City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Panama City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Panama City and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Best of Panama Shore Excursion | Canal, Casco & Geisha Coffee start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Panama City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Panama City?
+
On Outty we rank every Panama City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to a waterfall and Embera village with lunch included, Panama Canal With Entry Ticket & City Tour: Old Town & City Views, Legends of Casco Viejo Tour: Hidden Gems with Panama Vibes Tours. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Panama City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Panama City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
