    Best of the best!

We take a lot of tours and Alexander is the best of the best when it comes to guides. He is so knowledgeable about his city and all the Greek mythology, plus he is kind and very accommodating. One member of our party was in a walking boot and crutches- Alexander made sure he was comfortable and even drove him to the gates of the Acropolis and secured him a ride to the top in the elevator. We had a great day and felt like we covered so much of the city! Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a wonderful review and for taking the time to share it! It truly means a lot, especially coming from travelers who have experienced so many tours. I’m delighted that you enjoyed discovering Athens with me and that I could make the day comfortable for everyone in your group. It was my pleasure to help and make sure everyone could enjoy the Acropolis. Wishing you many more amazing travels, and I hope our paths cross again someday! Warm regards, Alexander Papageorgiou

    The best of the best!

We travel a lot and take a lot of tours, Alexander is the best of the best. We covered so much of Athens during our time with him and he is a walking (driving😉) encyclopedia of knowledge- about his city, mythology, you name it! One of our party was in a walking boot and crutches- Alexander was very attentive and made sure he was accommodated and comfortable. Even driving up to the gates of the Acropolis and securing him a trip up in the elevator. Truly a five star day!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and for taking the time to share your experience. It truly means a lot to me! I always do my best to make sure everyone in the group feels comfortable and gets the opportunity to see and enjoy the sites, regardless of any challenges. I’m especially happy that we were able to make the Acropolis accessible and comfortable for everyone. It was a pleasure spending the day with you, and I’m so glad you felt that you got to see and experience so much of Athens. Thank you again for your kind words and recommendation — I really appreciate it! Warm regards to everyone! Alexander Papageorgiou

    Alexandros loves Athens,...

Alexandros loves Athens, and enthusiastically shares that love with his guests. His tour does hit the highlights of Athens and is great for people who do not have a lot of time to explore. Alexandros also arranged for a private guide, Vassos, for the Acropolis segment of the tour. She was excellent: personable, extremely knowledgeable, and readily responsive to questions.

Response from the operator: Dear Gerald! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review! I’m glad the tour gave you a meaningful introduction to Athens in the time you had, and that Vaso made your Acropolis visit even more enjoyable! I hope to see you again in the future for more exciting adventures! Warm regards, Alexander Papageorgiou

Stop researching - this is the one to book!

Highlight of our trip, absolutely wonderful tour! The best way to see Athens, especially if you have limited time before the start of a cruise like we did. We were able to see all the sites, the changing of the guard, etc all while learning the history and having flexibility to explore the city and choose what we wanted. Fantastic experience!

Response from the operator: Dear Anita! Thank you very much for your kind words and especially for taking the time to write such a wonderful review. It was a real pleasure spending the day with you and helping you discover Athens before your cruise. I’m delighted to hear the tour was a highlight of your trip! Hopefully next time you’ll bring your boys with you so we can share another memorable day together. Wishing you safe travels and many wonderful adventures ahead! Warm regards, Alexander Papageorgiou

Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line cost?

    +

Prices start at $55 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 57 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line?

    +

Around 20 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Best of Athens in one day private tour & Acropolis skip the line start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
