What you'll see and do
One of Delhi's former capitals, Siri, included Shahpur Jat. Here you may still see the old city's ruins. The lush grounds of Shahpur Jat attracted the Panwar Gotra Jats from Madhya Pradesh approximately 700 years ago. The Jat community still lives here, even though the farming areas have been replaced by trendy businesses. You've probably heard of Delhi Shahpur Jat fashion street if you've ever needed to purchase for a wedding. If you haven't, you really ought to! It's intended for those of us who don't want the generic Indian clothing that most smaller markets sell, but also don't want the high price tag of A-list designers. No joking, Delhi Shahpur Jat Fashion Street has everything to offer everyone. However, this also implies that there is far too much to discover.

The "Street of Incomparable Pearls" is how Dariban Kalan explains its significance. It is a 17th-century street in Shahjahanabad or Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk. It links Jama Masjid and Chandni Chowk. Precious stones and jewellery made of gold and silver are popular in this historical market. The street was present when the Persian invader Nadir Shah ordered the horrific massacre of Delhi in March 1739, which resulted in the murder of hundreds of innocent soldiers and citizens and the looting of the gold shops.

A Perfect Day in Dehli
We had an excellent day with Push. He arrived well in time which we appreciated He is highly knowledgeable and communicates information clearly and effectively, striking the right balance between insight and pace. We explored Old Delhi extensively, visiting several markets—the street food market in particular was a highlight. We especially enjoyed the masala chai, served in traditional clay cups, which was a lovely touch. A visit to a Sikh temple for Sunday afternoon prayers was a standout experience. Seeing the kitchens and halls where up to 15,000 people are fed daily was truly remarkable and a powerful demonstration of generosity. We also took several cycle rickshaw rides, which added to the authenticity of the experience. Push himself is understated and discreet, which we appreciated. He has a strong instinct for when to provide detailed context and when to step back and allow us to take in the surroundings. Overall, it was a superbly managed and memorable day! Thank you Push.

10/10 Delhi Day Trip Tour
I did a daytrip around Delhi with tourguide Push and absolutely loved it. We were picked up from our hotel in a nice car with a driver and taken around to the coolest locations. We visited a beautiful mosque, a vegetable market, a spice market, I had the best chai of my life from a place recommended by Push. We walked around century old food vendors and got to ride in carts pulled by a man on a bicycle through the busy Delhi market. We visited a stunning Sikh temple and got to see how their community kitchen works. I even helped make some bread for the meal. The whole tour, Push was sharing so much knowledge about the places we visited. He is a skilled guide and a kind person. This tour was a highlight of my trip to India and I recommend you book with Drishti India Tours.

A real experience of Old Delhi & all that it offered, whilst feeling safe at all time
I can describe our private tour of Old Delhi, for 4 of us, in 3 words …amazing amazing amazing!! Push was amazing from start to finish for the following reasons: prompt communication, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, adaptable, very kind & thoughtful. Since I am challenged by walking very long distances, Push organised a longer rickshaw ride for parts of the tour, so I was comfortable for the whole tour. He provided us with LOTS of opportunity to experience so much of Old Delhi i.e. visited the spice & tea market + flower market + food alley tasting masala & paranthas (Push has food tours too) + wedding shops + havelis/old houses + jewellery shop + pashmina shop + Friday Mosque + rode the metro & experienced the hustle of peak hour traffic, whilst riding a rickshaw. It was a most memorable day for many reasons. Even though at this stage Push has only a few reviews on Airbnb, he is a very experienced guide of 15+ years. I highly recommend booking a tour with Push, if you want to experience the ‘real’ Old Delhi, with all its sites, sounds & smells. He also conducts tours to Agra + the Taj Mahal + hidden gems of Delhi. Just message him. Push was so GOOD, that we organised another 2 half day private tours with him. A gentle man & a gentleman.

+

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Delhi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Delhi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
