    Incredible Adults Only Catamaran Experience

Our adults-only catamaran experience was absolutely incredible! We had such a great time and really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially because we had the opportunity to meet other people, make new friends, and have a lot of fun together. We even connected so well with some of the people we met on board that we ended up making plans to go to Coco Bongo tonight. That really made the experience even more memorable! Everything was fantastic. The food was also one of the best buffets we tried during our trip to Mexico honestly, even better than the buffet at our hotel. If you are looking to have fun, meet people, enjoy great food, and have an unforgettable time, you definitely have to try this catamaran experience. Go for it — you won’t regret it!

    The best staff

Our family decided to book the catamaran tour with round-trip transportation, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end. We chose to include transportation, and everything went smoothly. There were five of us, and although we were assigned a small van, it was comfortable enough for everyone. The driver arrived right on time, exactly as indicated in our confirmation message, and the ride to the marina was pleasant. Once we arrived, we completed the check-in process and paid the mandatory marina and marine conservation fees. The process was quick and well organized. Afterward, we were invited to relax in a shaded palapa where complimentary coffee, water, and juice were available while we waited to board the catamaran. It was a nice touch and made the short wait much more comfortable. From the moment we stepped on board, the crew made us feel welcome. The service throughout the day was outstanding. The open bar was included, offering cocktails, beer, and other beverages during the trip. The staff was attentive, friendly, and always making sure everyone was having a great time. After sailing across the beautiful Caribbean waters, we arrived at Isla Mujeres. We were taken to the dock before heading to the buffet lunch, which honestly surprised us. In my opinion, it was one of the best buffets I've had during my visits to Cancún. The food was fresh, flavorful, and offered plenty of variety. After lunch, we had free time to explore the island. You have the option of renting a golf cart for an additional cost if you'd like to discover more of Isla Mujeres on your own. We decided not to do that this time because we plan to return to the island in the future specifically to explore it by golf cart. Instead, we stayed at the beach club, and it turned out to be the perfect decision. Our children had a wonderful time playing on the beach while we relaxed, enjoyed another drink, and spent more quality time together. It was one of the most enjoyable parts of the day. The return sail was simply spectacular. Watching the sunset from the catamaran, with the Caribbean breeze and the beautiful colors reflecting on the water, was an unforgettable moment that made the experience even more special. A special thank you goes to our guide, **José**, whose professionalism, hospitality, and positive attitude made the trip even more enjoyable. He was attentive throughout the entire excursion and ensured that everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. Finally, I want to mention something that stood out to us during our trip to Mexico. Before traveling, we had heard many negative comments online, but our experience couldn't have been more different. Every tour we booked was well organized, the service was excellent, and everywhere we went, people were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. I highly recommend this catamaran tour to anyone visiting Cancún. It's a perfect combination of sailing, beautiful scenery, delicious food, excellent service, and unforgettable family memories.

Fun experience but a big lack of information

The excursion itself was a great time but a lot of the logistics were lacking. We had to pay a $50 fee per person for docking and conservation on top of the original $30 we paid to book. Then upon arrival we waited 45 minutes through the check in process after arriving an hour early, once checked in they rushed us to get on the boat and said it was waiting on us to leave. They told us about needing hats due to lack of shade/cover, towels because the risk of a rash from the salt water and sun, and a specific type of sunscreen to protect marine life. None of this was listed previously to our arrival but of course they had it available for purchase on site. The buffet was decent but only open for about an hour after docking. The guides were great, we did have a lot of fun once we got past the other stuff upon arrival.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the logistical issues you experienced during your tour. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve our service and communicate more clearly with future guests. We would also like to clarify that this catamaran is intentionally designed as an open-concept vessel, allowing guests to enjoy unobstructed 360° panoramic views of the ocean, the surrounding scenery, and the sky throughout the experience. Because of this design, the shaded area on board is very limited and is located primarily near the cabin entrance. This is a characteristic of the catamaran itself rather than a service limitation. For this reason, we recommend that guests wear sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, and appropriate clothing to ensure a more comfortable experience. We sincerely regret that your expectations were not fully met and appreciate your understanding. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future. Kind regards.

    Good for the price

Fun trip, great and friendly staff. If you do the family boat the time in the village seems short. But then the time at the private beach feels a little long. (About an hour at the village and 2 hours at the beach). The main thing that bummed me out was that we never actually sailed the boat, the captain said the sail was broken. I assume none of these boats actually sail, because we didn’t see any of them doing so. Snorkeling was about 15-20 minutes long, they guide you in a loop around some of the reef and fish. You wear a life jacket the whole time so it’s easy to swim the distance (maybe 300 yards). The guide doesn’t stop at any one point so be sure to look in the water the whole time. Drinks on the family package are sunny D, water, coke, “lagoon” vodka, beer, and some pink alcohol mixture (I think it was a rum mix). We aren’t drinkers so we didn’t drink the alcohol, but the water/sunny D were good. The coke was flat though. Food at the buffet reminded me of a middle school cafeteria, not that great, but you can’t expect too much for the price. The only food I recommend eating was the Mexican food and salsa. Keep in mind the buffet is open for only the first hour of the 2 hours you spend at the beach (the bar is open the whole time). The staff were fun and helpful, overall we enjoyed it and I recommend.

    Snorkle, open bar, Isla Mujeres

Upgraded to a less crowded catamaran. Captain was very informative and friendly. Open bar and the crew were outstanding. The trip to isla mujeres was fun and rented the golf cart.

Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel cost?

    +

Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Best Catamaran Isla Mujeres tour with Open bar, lunch, snorkel start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
