About this experience
This is not a tour of villains and battles, but of how a democracy was dismantled from within. Beginning at the Brandenburg Gate, your guide traces the Weimar Republic's collapse, the Nazi seizure of power through propaganda and fear, and the machinery of a state that turned to genocide — administered not by fanatics alone, but by clerks and civil servants at ordinary desks. Alongside the sites of power on Wilhelmstraße and at the Reichstag, the walk gives space to the victims — the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the often-overlooked Sinti and Roma, and the Jewish community that Berlin nearly destroyed and that has since returned. Led by a licensed local guide, it treats this difficult history with the seriousness and respect it demands. With a max of 20 guests, it is a more personal experience than most tours in the city. This tour includes a short journey by public transport. If you don't hold a valid day pass (AB-zone), we'll cover the cost of your ticket.

Genius tour! Don’t miss it!
If you're thinking about booking the SANDEMANS Third Reich Tour, just do it. It was easily one of the best tours I did in Berlin. Nir was an outstanding guide. You could tell he really knows the history, but what made the tour special was how he explained everything in a way that was interesting, balanced, and easy to follow. It never felt like a history lecture—it felt like walking through the city with someone who genuinely wanted you to understand what happened and why it still matters today. The tour gives so much context to places you would otherwise just walk past without a second thought. After it, I looked at Berlin in a completely different way. I've done quite a few walking tours while travelling, and this was one of the best. If you're visiting Berlin and want to understand the city's history beyond the guidebooks, this tour is absolutely worth your time. Huge thanks to Nir for making such a difficult subject so engaging and memorable.

Excellent, informative.
What can I say? We met Simon today at the agreed time and place with a group of about 20/25 others. What a knowledgeable and engaging tour we had. Simon was amazing. His knowledge was excellent and he kept us engaged for the whole 2 hours. My 13yr old History loving daughter was fascinated from start to finish and has definitely said she's going back to school next week to teach her History teacher. The pace was fine for my mother who's early 70's. I really recommend this tour. Absolutely fascinating from start to finish. Well done Simon. 5* from all of us. (We booked under the name Towell)

It's wonderful to know that Simon's knowledge and storytelling kept everyone captivated throughout the tour. We're especially delighted to hear that your daughter's passion for history was inspired even further—that's a wonderful compliment to Simon! It's also great to know that the pace was comfortable for your mother, allowing everyone to enjoy the experience together. Thank you for your kind recommendation and your generous words. We'll be sure to share your feedback with Simon, who will be delighted to know he made such a lasting impression. We hope to welcome you all on another SANDEMANs tour in the future! Very worthwhile - 5 Stars
On a very wet, windy Friday with hail as well, I joined a walking tour of Jewish Berlin with two others and our Guide Nir. It was a fascinating tour and Nir being so knowledgeable, personable and inclusive made the tour really enjoyable despite the dreadful weather. In fact the three of us rearranged our Saturday so we could be with Nir again on a walking tour of the Third Reich. This was a large group and we saw amongst other things, the Holocaust memorial, Hitler’s bunker, some of the old Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. Despite the size of the group Nir managed to involve everyone in the conversations, to keep everyone interested and to keep us all together. Congratulations to Sandemans for having such a great tour guide and for providing such interesting tours.
Response from the operator: Berlin’s history is powerful, and we’re glad Nir helped you explore it through meaningful stories and conversations. 😊 Thank you for recognizing his dedication to making every guest feel included and engaged. Thanks again for joining us! We look forward to welcoming you again in the future. Tricia | SANDEMANs Team

Why this scores 91
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.
How much does Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.
Is Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 91 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 712 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour?
+
Around 249 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Berlin Third Reich Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Berlin?
+
On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Berlin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Berlin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
