    About this experience

This tour is available in two different versions to suit your preference. You can choose to take the tour on foot and use public transportation or opt for a private car tour. You'll be taken to different areas of the city, both well-known and off the beaten path, to see all types of street art, from big murals to small tags. You'll also learn about the history and motivations behind street art in Berlin and current issues like gentrification and the influx of refugees. The route typically includes a visit to one of Berlin's squats, which are a legacy of the counterculture of the 90s. Alternatively, if you prefer a more comfortable to discover the street art scene in Berlin, you can opt for the private car tour. A car, a driver, and the tour guide will be provided. You can sit back, relax, and enjoy the tour without having to worry about public transportation.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Berlin

Berliners pioneered the use of graffiti as protest when they started spray-painting the Western side of the Berlin Wall – subverting the most brutal symbol of the Cold War with messages of resistance, compassion and hope. The street art scene then exploded after the Wall fell, as young people, punks and artists reclaimed and reappropriated empty buildings in the former East. These days the city is famed as much for the art you find on the streets as the art present in its galleries. This 3-hour walking tour gives you the low-down on Berlin’s Street Art scene – the history, the movers and shakers, and their motivations – and also addresses other contemporary cultural concerns in the city. We stay at the cutting edge, and thus our route changes with the scene. What follows is an overview of what to expect during your experience, not a set itinerary.

      15 minutes here

    2. Haus Schwarzenberg

You will spend some time exploring some enduring graffiti spots in the city centre before travelling to some of Berlin’s more bohemian districts.

      45 minutes here

    3. Kreuzberg

You will explore streets off the beaten track, hidden and reappropriated urban space, and see both murals that sprawl across the sides of entire buildings and smaller, clandestine tags. Your guide will talk about different forms and media falling under the label of Street Art, and discuss the origins of protest in areas like Kreuzberg. You’ll visit one of Berlin’s enduring squats – descendants of the legendary centres of counterculture in the ‘90s – and discuss red-hot topics for today’s Berlin, such as gentrification and the influx of refugees fleeing conflict in the Middle East and Africa.

A wholly different view of Berlin

We had a great afternoon touring parts of Berlin we otherwise would never have seen. Anika was very knowledgeable about street art, music, and clubs in Berlin as well as many other places in the world. Also, she was simply a pleasure to spend time with. After a day touring historical Berlin, and another at Sachsenhausen, this was the perfect way to spend our final day in this marvelously diverse city.

Response from the operator: Dear Lynn, We're super hapy we could show you Berlin from a bit different angle! It's a very special place that has always something more to explore! We hope to have you back one day! Warm regards, Magda Vexperio

Berlin Street Art Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.

How much does Berlin Street Art Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $183 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Berlin Street Art Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.

Is Berlin Street Art Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Berlin Street Art Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Berlin Street Art Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Berlin Street Art Private Tour?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Berlin Street Art Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Berlin?

    +

On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Berlin?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Berlin?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
