This shore excursion combines our classic All-in-One Best of Berlin trip with a brief visit to the largest concentration camp near Berlin: Sachsenhausen. We will pick you up directly at your cruise ship docking in Warnemünde or Rostock, and bring you to Berlin to see the city's essential sites. You will then be driven to Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp for an overview of the memorial site. Please be aware, Sachsenhausen is roughly a one hour drive from Berlin. The tour is organized to minimize time spent on the bus. This is why we visit Sachsenhausen in the afternoon, as it lies on the way back to port. More time, however, is spent on the bus than on our regular Berlin shore excursion. All of our shore excursions are adjusted to each ship’s docking times and each starts promptly after your vessel’s arrival, returning with plenty of time to spare before its departure. This tour is designed to provide an overview of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp memorial while also showing you Berlin’s essential sites during the time you have ashore. You will be greeted in front of your cruise ship as soon as it docks and shown to a modern, comfortable, air-conditioned bus. Next you will have the chance to cross between East and West at the most famous border crossing point over the Berlin Wall, frontline of the Cold War, where spies roamed and US and Soviet tanks faced off in 1961. We will take a short lunch break here of approximately 30-45 minutes.

Amazing Experience. Far exceeded expectations! Nick provided an unbelievable fun and accurate tour. His information is timely, accurate, detailed and easy to digest. We did our tour from Wandegruden cruise terminal and it was exactly 12 hours on the dot. They got us back about 45min before boarding time with 0 issues.

A must do excursion
Nick was phenomenal. His background, history, details and events were perfect. We were so thankful to have gone to the concentration camp because that put everything into perspective for what we saw in Berlin. He was very conscious of time to have us back to the ship on time. I highly recommend taking snacks along because the whole idea is to see as much of Berlin as possible and not spend it inside a restaurant. Bathroom breaks were perfectly timed as well - although if you can skip the first stop on the bus, all the other toilets will be free. It was nice that we could keep all our belongings on the bus. Lastly I would make it known there is a lot of uneven walking - and it’s fairly quick to fit everything in to the plan. If you have any mobility issues you should think about a different excursion.
