Must Do Experience
It was a wonderful day, seeing the beauty of western Norway. Our guide Oscar was absolutely great, fun and informative and took good care of our group.

Do this tour and no other tour is required
The trip itself is wonderful and if you take this trip there is no need to take any other trip from Bergen for fjord etc. The problem if any is with the tour company- we reached flam at 2 pm and our next train was booked at 4 pm instead of 2.45 pm train that was available. Also this 4pm train was delayed by one hour this missing our connected next train so instead of reaching Bergen by 7.30 we would reach by 10 pm. The tour company was not aware of this delay but my efforts got us to book the earlier train and we saw everything in day light and reached Bergen by 6.20. If we had waited for 5 pm train we would have missed the highlight of tour due to fading daylight. Otherwise the tour was good.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback and for the 5-star rating! We're glad you enjoyed the tour and that we managed to sort out the train situation. Just to clarify, on that particular day we had a later fjord cruise departure from Gudvangen, which is why the 16:00 train was originally booked instead of our usual 14:45 departure. Unfortunately, train delays are beyond our control, but we're happy that everything worked out and you were able to enjoy the scenery and return to Bergen earlier. Thank you again for travelling with us!

Trains, Boats and Bus Fjord Fun
Our guide Vibeke was so fun and made what was sort of a dreary rainy tour on a bus, boat then train great. She came and sat with us and helped us find our train ticket and told us all about a house on the top of the fjord cliff and goats and a series on Norway involving unusual places and even stepped out in the misty rain to take photos of us! We first boarded a bus and learned of Norwegian land, then stopped at a Viking village where we passed on the Viking experience because of the rain but had the most delicious lunch (I had a salad with turkey and my husband had a reindeer burger with beets and brown cheese). Then we boarded the fjord boat with 400 other people and I was thinking UGH I hate people but Vibeke our tour guide came and sat with us and explained Norwegian life as a native Bergenian and then we were just laughing and having so much fun. Then we went through the fjord and ended up in Flambana village for a couple of hours until our train arrived to take us through more very interesting tunnels and bridges and valley and water falls in a nice comfortable train (two connections) back to Bergen. At the village we had the most amazing donut things called skullbowls, chewy fresh brownies and rich delectable carrot cake and rich hot chocolate at the Bakery while we just enjoyed people watching in our booth. So, a good time! Recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear that you had such an enjoyable day despite the rainy weather. From the fjord scenery and train journey to the delicious food and little discoveries along the way, it sounds like you made the most of every stop! We're happy that the trip left you with so many good memories. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Norway someday!

Stunning
It is absolutely beautiful. A great experience. But beware it is a long day and take some snacks and water. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The natural beautiy is overwhelming.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your review! It is certainly a full day, and bringing some extra snacks and water is always a good idea, even though there are plenty of opportunities along the way for lunch, snacks and coffee breaks. We’re happy the journey was worth it and that the natural beauty of Western Norway made such an impression. Thank you for travelling with us!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bergen.
How much does Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch cost?

Prices start at $428 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bergen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bergen is not rushed.
Is Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bergen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch?
+

Is Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Bergen: Legendary Flam Railway & UNESCO Fjord Cruise with lunch?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bergen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bergen and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
On Outty we rank every Bergen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Walking Tour in Bergen of the Past and Present, City Walking Tour - Bergen On Foot, Discover Bergen on Foot and Boat. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bergen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bergen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
