    River boat safari

This was one of our favourite things to do. We went with a small local company. Our tok tok driver took us there and it was just the two of us on a boat travelling through the mangroves. Thetr didn’t seem like there was a lot at first but then we saw alligator baby, alligators andKingfisher, Monitor lizards, white frogs, green frogs and to top it all the most priceless thing was the monkeys. They all come out of the trees and took food from our hands with their babies. just couldn’t buy the experiences you’ve got to go and see it yourself

Really good with only one little thing to improve on.

The tour was really great. The guides were knowledgable, friendly and really caring. The only thing that could be better would be the use of electric engines with boats during the river safari. It would help cut down on noise and air pollution, which would prevent the animals from being scared away and improve the air that the passengers have to breathe - which really consisted of lots of fumes.

    Excellent Experience

We had an absolutely amazing day, our driver was excellent. The river boat tour was really good, we saw many animals thanks to our guide. We especially enjoyed the temple, it was very beautiful and an honour to take part with the warm and friendly community. Overall a great introduction to this wonderful country

    Fantastic! Highly Recommend

Where to begin! From start to finish it was wonderful, Sam organised everything for us and Dinesh our driver was so kind and sweet and waited for us at each stop. We started with a River Safari where we saw crocodiles, monkeys (with one peeing on my sister, a memory that will last forever), birds, lizards and more. We then went to a gem museum and from there went for a delicious lunch! The food was the best we have had since being here. After lunch we went to see the Sea Turtle Conservation which was something we will remember forever. Lastly we went to a Tea Factory where we learnt so much abut tea and the making of it. Thank you so so much to BTM for organising such a fabulous day out, we have created memories that we will cherish forever. One recommendation; we suggest brining some smaller and larger notes to tip if you want to. Thank you, Emma and Katie

    Amazing Safari and Turtle Care

Our trip started at 7.30 am. Sam from BTM organized everything and we were able to add what we wanted to see and what not. Dinesh our driver was of course very punctual again and drove us to the bentoto river. Our river guide Sumnl was already waiting for us. Sumnl can speak English very well and is very friendly. He has a tiger eyes and sees animals we would never have seen. In the middle of the safari he stopped and cut us a fresh golden coconut that we could drink and a fresh pineapple for eat. Both were just delicious!! On the river trip we stopped with someone he knew who had rescued a baby monkey when his mother died and a small crocodile, both of which he is releasing when they are old enough. After that we stopped by a tree there were a lot of monkeys, just a dream. We saw a few animals and the river landscape was just indescribable. Thank you dear Sumnl for the great river safari! After that we were in a garden looking at cinnamon, aloe vera and something more. It was great but in the end it wasn't the best of the day. That's why our great driver Dinesh drove us to the temple with the huge Buddha, that was very impressive. He even had clothes for us because you are not allowed to wear short dresses. And in the end we weren't hungry and were able to skip lunch spontaneously and went straight on to Turtle Care at Santha Ferando's. It was just impressive what they do and help for the Turtles! You are doing a great job! Thank you for the great impressions! The excursion can only be recommended and if there is something you would rather not do, you can say so and the day will be designed in such a way that you are simply satisfied at the end. I would book with BMT again! You're just doing it brilliantly!

Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Galle.

How much does Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Galle usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Galle is not rushed.

Is Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Galle, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Galle can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Galle and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bentota Village Tour with River Safari & Tea Plantation/Factory - All Inclusive start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Galle within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Galle?

    +

On Outty we rank every Galle experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full day / Half Day WildlifeAdventure in Yala-National-Park, Special leopard & Elephants safari - Yala - 04.30 am to 11.30 am, Sea waves sri lankan cooking class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Galle?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Galle?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
