Tiananmen Square
At 08:00 our guide and driver will greet you at your hotel in Beijing city area. First, we will take a walk on the Tiananmen Square, the heart and symbol of Beijing and the largest city square in the world. The spacious square has been used for many public celebrations, ceremonies, and demonstrations for over a hundred years.

The Palace Museum
Then you will pay a visit to the Forbidden City(closed on every Monday), one of the largest and most completely preserved palace complexly built with wood. It functioned as the imperial palace in the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1912). There were 24 emperors of the two dynasties lived in the Forbidden City.

The Great Wall at Badaling
After lunch, we will drive about 45 minutes to visit the Badaling Great Wall, the most famous and the best-preserved section of the Chinese Ming Dynasty Great Wall. The mountain slope is very steep and the roads are tortuous, which makes it an important military stronghold in ancient time. The wall is like a strong dragon winding its way along the mountain ranges. If hiking is too much for you, cable car is available and optional.

On the way back to city area, we will make a stop at Bird’s Nest and Water Cube to pay an outer visit and take some pictures. After visiting, you will be escorted back to your hotel in Beijing city area at around 5:00 pm.

They tailored the tour to meet my preferences and arranged everything flawlessly, including high-speed train travel from Guangzhou to Beijing. Great service, fun trip!
We had a great time on this tour. Our guide, VIK, was at our hotel promptly at 8 AM and was friendly. He led us to a van waiting out front with a driver, which was nice as VIK could then talk to us about the sights and didn’t have to deal with parking. Forbidden City was very interesting, as was Tienemen Square, and VIK did a great job of both explaining the sights and also letting us move at our desired pace (I’m not a fan of tours that make you suffer through a deliberately throttled pace.) The jade factory was interesting but the products were pricey and the salespeople obnoxiously pushy. Not our favorite part of the trip but at least the lunch there was good. The Wall was fantastic. Absolutely breathtaking and VIK was very helpful in getting us in and mapping out a route. We ended up switching to the Mutianyu section and are glad we did. We seemingly had the Wall to ourselves! VIK and the travel company were very accommodating of the change and up front about the slight increase in costs. All in all a wonderful day. I appreciated the service!
