Mutianyu Great Wall
The Mutianyu Great Wall is located in Mutianyu Village, Bohai Town, Huairou District, Beijing, China. It is about 70 kilometers away from the center of Beijing. It takes about 1.5 hours to drive there. The Mutianyu Great Wall has a long history. It was first built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty and was supervised and constructed on the site of the Great Wall of the Northern Qi Dynasty. It integrates the construction wisdom of different eras and is a microcosm of the history of Great Wall architecture and the military defense system in China. The Mutianyu Great Wall Scenic Area is characterized by its overlapping mountains and a vegetation coverage rate as high as 96%, making it a natural oxygen bar. The scenery varies with the four seasons. In spring, the mountains are ablaze with flowers; in autumn, the forests are ablaze with colors; and in winter, the Great Wall is covered with snow, resembling a Chinese ink-wash painting.

Great Wall tour
Our driver, Wang, did an excellent job; communication was very good, and he helped and guided us throughout the trip. The car was very clean, and the tea tasting was very interesting, featuring excellent products. A very good agency; Linda communicates with us frequently and is very clear, and everything is very well organized. I went on several tours in Beijing with them.

Great tour! Highly recommend!
Wonderful experience as a solo traveler. Fred picked me up at my hotel promptly. Clean vehicle, nice ride and shared facts about the wall during our drive. He escorted me to the first part of the wall to take photos of me at key photo points which I appreciated. Then I was on my own to explore the wall for several hours before our meetup time. A delicious lunch followed which was included in the tour. The tea room was very interesting and the presentation and tastings delightful. I felt very safe as a solo traveler on this tour and highly recommend it!

Perfect Day with friendly guide
We were very satisfied with our guide Mr. Wang and can highly recommend this tour. Mr. Wang spoke very good English and was extremely friendly and helpful. We asked him if he would like to walk up the Great Wall together with us, and he happily joined us. He also took many wonderful photos of us, which we really appreciated. He arrived at our hotel perfectly on time, which made the whole experience very relaxed from the beginning. We especially recommend going to the Great Wall early in the morning. On our way back, there was already a large crowd arriving, so we were very happy we started early. Overall, we can highly recommend this tour and Mr. Wang as a guide. It was a great experience and a perfect day at the Great Wall.

A great experience at the Great Wall of China
Our tour with Linda was memorable. She provided us with a lot of info about the Great Wall and stayed with us the entire time. She also took us to a tea house to experience a tea ceremony. Thanks Linda for a great time.

No hassle, friendly, car to yourself so no crowded buses. Kind and smart guide.
Linda is an amazing guide! I went with a group of 5 friends. The price is perfect for comfortable transport to the wall. The ride pick up was reliable, on time, comfortable and clean. She helped us up to the wall so we didn’t have to worry about tickets or translations. And on the return home she brought us to a lovely tea house ceremony. She is friendly, smart, and welcoming and we all had a great experience, free of hassle and worrying.

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Beijing: Mutianyu Great Wall&Tea House Private Tour with options start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
