Wonderful visit
Had such a great time on this Great Wall tour! Clare, our guide, was super friendly and full of interesting stories, and Mr. Pan, our driver, made the ride so comfortable. Mutianyu was beautiful and not too crowded, and I loved that we could go at a relaxed pace—plenty of time for photos and to take it all in. The cable car up and toboggan down was so much fun, and lunch at a local spot was delicious. Totally recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! Carla. We’re glad you enjoyed a relaxed, fun-filled day at the Great Wall’s Mutianyu section with Clare and Mr. Pan. It’s fantastic to hear that the slow-paced private tour gave you plenty of time for photos, stories, and local flavors, with highlights like the cable car up, toboggan down, and a delicious lunch. If you’re looking for the best Great Wall experience with a knowledgeable guide and comfortable transport, our team is here to help make it memorable!

Wish Granted
It has been my wish to walk the steps of the Great Wall of China ever since I was in Grade 6. I got so fascinated with the place when we studied about it so many times in our Asian History class. Yesterday, that wish was granted. With the help of our guides, Claire and Mr. Pan, we were able to climb to and then walk between the 2 towers of the Great Wall of China. Mr. Pang patiently did the 1 and a half hour driving from our Wangfujing hotel to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall, while Claire guided us in our steep climb to the cable car which brought us up to the Great Wall. From entrance, we walked the challenging up and down pavement of the wall with the breathtaking natural scenery in the backdrop. It was such an adventure and without the help of Claire and Mr. Pan, this wish of mine would not have been possible! I give both of them 10 stars for helping us. Xiexie, xiexie, Claire and Mr. Pan. Wo ai ni China! - George, Jenny, Joanne and Arcadio. We are all from the Philippines.
Response from the operator: Thank you for givng us such a praise, George. Happy new year to you and families! looking forward that you will use our service again!

great wall trip
My Chinese collegue contacted this service to organize a Great Wall trip for us, we are a couple at our early 60s. Everything was well organized in an efficient way. The company has sent peter as our guide to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Peter is a knowledgeable and friendly person, we have learnt so many from him in one day. The Great Wall is at its early autumn with all the trees turning yellow on the mountain, and we had a couple of hours on it without rushing, a really deserving trip in this season. We also had a nice driver who drove steadily and tried to turn to some short shut for us to avoid traffic. We would highly recommend this trip to everyone who needs an unhurried Great Wall trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear you had a smooth, enjoyable trip to the Great Wall with Peter and our driver. Autumn is indeed a perfect time to visit, and we're glad you could experience it at a relaxed pace. We truly appreciate your recommendation!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.
How much does Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.
Is Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Beijing Great Wall Slow-Paced Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Beijing?
+
On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Beijing?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Beijing?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
