Great Experience to enjoy...
Great Experience to enjoy with the family! Our guide Alan is fun and very knowledgeable about the Lucha Libre and took the time to explain. Highly recommended if you are in CDMX

We were sat at almost the very back of the arena, you can get the same tickets yourself at almost 10% of the price of this tour. All the tour guide did was walking us in and showing us to our seats, and even so, there was a lot of confusion when entering the arena. We did get some lucha libre explanation, but only after the match, which didn't help us understand and appreciate it in the moment. With the same price, you can get first row tickets. Save the money and read up on the history on Wikipedia.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience didn’t meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few points for future guests. Before the event, we explained that the cultural and historical overview of lucha libre is intentionally provided after the matches. Arena México becomes extremely loud once the show begins, making it difficult for everyone to hear without interrupting the event. During the show, however, we were available at all times to answer any questions, and we personally responded to the questions your group asked throughout the evening , Additionally, during the experience, the guest chose to interact very little with the group and appeared to remain isolated for most of the tour. Despite this, our guide continued to check in periodically, remained available at all times, answered the questions they asked during the event, and provided assistance whenever needed. The level of engagement reflected in the review does not accurately represent the availability or quality of the service provided by our guide. Regarding the seating, this was a special event with exceptional demand, and seat availability was determined by the arena. While the location of the seats can vary depending on the event, our experience is designed to include guided assistance, local context, support throughout the evening, and insights that go beyond simply purchasing a ticket. We genuinely appreciate your comments, as they help us continue improving the experience for future guests.

Amazing local experience!
This was such a great experience! You get to know all the explanations from a local guide. Really well organized as well. Would recommend 100%

I recommend this...
I recommend this experience for anyone willing to try a night out in the town surrounded by a rowdy bunch. It gets loud and it gets crazy. Some match may drag on and you can tell that its neatly choreographed but you can also see the talent and determination of the fighters to give the crowd the best possible show. If youre lucky, you get to see a drunk man run into the middle of the ring and see him be dragged away 🤣 or see the very last fight be held by the masters of the sports. Best part is to feel the passion of the crowd and it gives many people a great chance to do something new and exciting on a weekend.

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $620 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Behind the Mask: The Real Chilango Lucha Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
